I didn't mean to imply that all the crime going on is caused by blacks, God knows whites, Hispanics, etc do their share too. That particular shooting just happened to be two teenage black kids who shouldn't have even had a gun in the first place. What I do see that is probably at the root of a lot of it is when they interview their families later they are outraged and blaming everyone but their kids who did it. Probably why their kids felt entitled to do this stuff in the first place.

I am serious about my thoughts that an island would be a very viable way to incarcerate the violent criminals to keep them away from the rest of us who try to live within the law, and it would be more cost effective than what we currently do. They would have to get off their lazy butts and work at producing their own food, building their own shelters, and taking care of themselves. All we would have to do is give them the island and the tools to do those things.

But we are TOO nice to do that, we want them to have color tv, 3 squares a day, and a comfy bed at night. In the meantime the judges keep leaving them off so they can come back into our communities and rob and kill us.

I left Anchorage in 92 because of just such an incident. A carload of black youth shot and killed a simple minded man as he was walking down the street to go get cigarettes. That was about 2-3 blocks from my place. I had an apartment over my shop business and they opened a black after hours club in an old apartment building right across the ally. Those 2 things were what made me move to finalize my decision to close shop and move to the country.

i have a pretty morbid sence of justice, if you kill you should die in the exact same way, a rapist well we don't need to go in detail, but if you do the crime , then it should be done to you.

Its against their "constitutional rights" for any type of cruel and unusual punishment! BULL SH**!!!! Give em what they gave.....far too lenient on crime in todays courts. I will vote for ya Don.....let me know when you're gonna run....:D

I totally agree! I was born and raised in texas where we have that "express Lane". It would be interesting to know the crime rate per captia during the old west days when everyone carried and you would be shot or hung on sight for being a thief and god forbid if you was a rapist! I know the amercian native culture was not concerned about cruel and unusual punishment...they kinda enjoyed it, had it down to an art! Don you have my vote!! Not only would crime rate go down we could have Rat rod day instead of secretary day as a national holiday!:D

What's screwed up about all this is every country you go to has this problem.
I know what everyone has said is directed to our United States and rightfully so.
Our open door policy is the worst thing to be allowed. If you sent them to an island or anywhere, they'd be back within days of being exiled. The open door policy has to be remove before any of the above will work.
just my belly button (aka jmho) :)
This is, unfortunately, something we all have to live with so, protect yourselves, your loved ones, without hesitation and by any means possible
p.s. I agree with all of the above punishments

I am a disabled veteran and if our wuss leaders in this country want to cure the gang problems I would be 1st in line to pick up the M-16 and deal with them in the only way that will end this crap. Don, my Mother lives near you in LeHigh and that place has turned into a slum, project looking neighborhood where doors are locked and bars on the windows.

I too believe in an eye for an eye, an am a corporal punishment advocate!
But I can't blame this on our government, or anyone else! The buck stops right at our own feet!

If we vote, and put the right people in place to take care of these problems, they will be taken care of! Unfortunately less than 40 percent of us feel the need to vote, and we let less important issues direct our attention when we do!

So in the time being I WILL be armed and I WILL take care of what needs to be taken care of in my famly! And thats about all we can do, as of now!!

I have a friend in Texas and he says....kill someone in Texas and we'll kill ya right back!
Too many 'politically correct" politicians in control now...

Unreal

I was just watching the news and we just had 1 more murder here. The report went on then all the sudden I saw my bubby of 20+ years face and name as being killed. And guess what I don't have to say the shooters race(back to the top).

at least you can protect your property ,if you catch someone in your house stealing stuff and you give them a beating ,they can have you charged for assault here in England

Crossfire, yes, Lehigh has it's share of crime too right now. Home invasions seem to be the popular form of recreation there these days. :(

We are seeing the murderers being younger and younger. A 14 year old just shot and killed his Parents and called 911 crying that he was sleepwalking and didn't realize he did it.

What made me mad about the 16 and 17 year olds that shot the Chinese delivery guy is that after arresting them they put them in an "Assessment Center", not even a regular jail. These are two jerks who fired 6 rounds at the guy and we treat them like petty theives.

Sadly punishment doesn't prove to be much of a deterrent. Crime is a social ill that is way beyond fixing the criminal by the time the he commits the crime.
Since innocent people do occasionally get convicted, how many of them per thousand would we be willing to kill (in the same manner as the person they were accused of murdering) to make the "eye for an eye" system ok?
I think we start by sterilizing any people who have a child and aren't both parenting it from the same household, not sure how the details would go but it's all the generations of unfathered children who grow up with no respect for society and the fabric of life, who are the biggest group of criminals.

I know this was done in the old days ala Australia, but I think it would be a great deterent to anyone thinking of committing a violent crime. If you hold up a store with a gun, or rob someone with a weapon, or shoot someone, off you go to the rock. I think it would make a lot of people think twice, or at least we wouldn't have them around here to worry about.

Make me President and watch what my first act would be.

Don

So what about hitting or even killing someone as a drunk driver? what would their fate be?

Again, only my opinion....

So what about hitting or even killing someone as a drunk driver? what would their fate be?

There is a significant difference between a person who lives a life of crime and one who (even thru stupidity) kills someone without the intent...I think intent is the key here....a person who robs, mugs or assaults someone has an intent and therefore the thought process to commit the crime....as illogical as it might appear to some, most drunks don't intend to kill or injury someone.....there would need to be a lodical set of laws that would address this issue....and a different set of circumstances that would be the resulting punishment.....JMHO

I agree about the intended thought process, but as far as drunk drivers go....there is not really an excuse for drunk driving. They intended to get drunk when they opened the can/bottle, they intended to drive the vehicle when they got the key from their pocket, they knew the possibilty of deminished mental functions. Even children know that a drunk shouldnt drive. They crash and kill a family/person they are really just as guilty as a triggerman. I'm not against drinking, dont get me wrong....you can always find my fridge full!(of course it's Shiner Bock, a texas beer;)). My point is drink till you puke if you want to...but stay at home! You kill someone and you are no better than those two teenagers that shot that gentleman. The old "I didnt know what I was doing..." excuse dont cut the mustard with me. If you didnt know what you are doing sounds like you need 24/7 day care in a nursing home so you can be monitored before you kill someone.

Recently here in a crime ridden area 3 guys were robbing a house & when they came outside they were met but several neighbors with baseball bats. Let's just say they... ummmm... got what they deserved!!!

My favorite shows on tv are the ones like "Citizens Fight Back", videos of crooks getting the tar beat out of them by someone they were trying to rob. I just love instant justice ! [cl[cl[cl
