Ok guys here we go..... been on here close to a year now so I
thought i would share .....original plan was to build a slick show
car, health problems change that....so new plan is to build a safe
dependable beater that my disability buddies can throw the wheel
chairs, oxygen tanks,canes, walkers and coolers in the back and

little background

This is the last car i built before I closed the shop 15 yrs ago,
the guy I built it for was a get friend, he only got to enjoy it
for about 2 yrs before he pasted.....sorry not the best picture
but the only one I've been able to find

Nice Cheby. [cl I've always had a soft spot in my head for long roof cars. I admire your altruism and practicality, but that car is just begging for a 427.

I couldn't help but notice your '38/9 Ford cab. What's on the drawing board for that one?

I hear ya. I don't have a BBC laying around either and I think I need one.

Your 38 project sounds perfect. I have another cab that has a similar plan. It will be a RPU. Saving that project for after retirement.

Pulled front suspension off, cut pockets out for the bags
pulled junk off firewall. Found a issue with one of the frame
horns so I cut it out and put in a new piece, I'm happier
with the way it looks now....

Looks like the bags are going to work ok, and this is where we are now..
hoping to get some parts ordered for suspension this week....
If this build does not interest anyone here I can delete it, it won't hurt
my feelings, I have rat projects on the back burner just need to get this
one going......

Keep sharing with us. Build is a build there all good. A little advice, make sure the front bags have plenty of clearance. On my sprint i thought it was good 1/4 in. more or less and it cost me a new set of bags, it doesn't take much of a rub to eat through. Check it when it's together full weight and full bags.

Yeah, Tripper I've been told I'm a sick puppy before, just not for cleaning
though........I spent most of the winter painting and organizing (ha) and
trying to put everything heavy on casters....most of the time it's a maze....

the inner structure and then welded back together so it's flush if that makes
since....

FBP, sounds good but i would still double check be you drive it too far. It needs to have all the weight of the car on it and the bags at max pressure. They grow (the bags) like cheep balloons

And please throw some dirt and or grease on the floor

Will do Soltz, thanks again....oh yeah, there is a big pile of
dirt and paint chips on the other side of the garage where I've been stripping all the paint
off my wood trim from inside the house...(what a pain)

M shop floor looks that clean about once a month.
