Bandages off today. Pretty brutal and not what I thought it would look like

Hang in there...and don't rush your recovery.
I've had carpel tunnel done 3 times.
Once on my left and twice on my right. And after everyone I went back to doing what it was that caused it to begin with.
Be smarter then me.
Sending you healing vibes, Brother.

I hope you're right-handed. Though I've never had carpal tunnel surgery, I've had several other issues which prompt me to say this...

"Every day you can wipe your own a$$ is a good day."

Umm both, at once. I'm eternally grateful to have a caring loving unfallible wife. A few mare days and I'll be back to normal, I hope

As you did, I too will be going back to what causes it. Unfortunately jobs aren't plentiful doing what I do so yeah, back to the grind

I should have paid closer attention to your pics.

You may, or may not find this amusing: My good friend's wife suffered a nasty fall and broke both her arms. (That's six weeks of rigid helplessness.) Bill immediately understood his position, flew into action and quickly installed a bidet. Problem solved! :)

First work on this post surgery. Made a rough bracket thing to use as a lift point. Pulled engine and box out and gave it a degrease and waterblast. Removed the remainder of the Holden engine mounts and decided to cut off the original Mitsubishi ones. Bought some second generation Mitsubishi spindles with vented discs, installed those. Dad is brokering a deal to swap my spare 3 speed for a 5 speed. Has had the shifter modified so cannot be fitted back into a Falcon. Overdrive will help with the cuisability. I separated the motor and box and removed the flex plate. I'll source some bolts for the flywheel and pressure plate.

I`ve read about some new upcoming regulations for damage repair, bodywork ,mods to vehicles in NZ.... [S that gonna be a problem for you guys down there to get rods on the road?

Yeah, it's a pain in the @$$. You get a regulated manual book/guide that you adhere to. You need it inspected by an engineer/approved inspector to get it documented. Then you get allocated a VIN, register it in your name, and get a warrant of fitness, basically a test to say its roadworthy. No pointy protrusions, indicators and lights need to meet certain standards.

Well overdue update. Myself, the wrists are basically back to how they were pre surgery. I'm not going to pursue any more therapy, just was a massive waste of time.
Buick wise, it's currently in a storage unit as we're putting our house on the market. So there's going to be nothing done on it until we get into our new place. I've decided to split into two projects and get my 1980 Yamaha XS850 going again. Been off the road since 1998.....yikes

Oh and forgot to add, gearbox I got wasn't a 5 speed. I was originally a bit pi$$Ed off, but box is a wide ratio Borg-Warner single rail 4 speed. Used behind some Aussie Ford V8s it should take a hammering, and adds a hint of nostalgia to the build.
Also toying with the idea of putting a turbo on it, blowing through a 4 barrel, but most likely not this 600, apparently I need to find a double pumper to do it.
