A couple days ago I saw a local scrapper going through town with a couple junkers. One was a mid 60s Ford farm truck, no biggy. This morning I saw him in the cafe and he said it was a Mercury truck. I'm going to head down Mon. morning and see if it has been crushed yet. They will sell me the Merc stuff if it hasn't.
What an *&%$%&Y

Wow! You would think someone along the way would have realized the Merc trucks and parts for them are desirable, if it really is a Mercury.

There is a small scrap yard that opened up a couple years ago in town, they have two 1940 Dodge trucks ,one has a tanker on the back, all complete, plus a bunch of 50 th cars of different makes, scattered about.I have talked to them twice about if they are selling them and how much and nobody gives you an answer. And they look in better shape then a lot of the stuff people are trying to sell in ads for a lot of money.

I don't know a lot about the Mercury trucks but it would be pretty cool to have one or even the Merc parts to swap onto a Ford. Used to be one near me that looked like a '51-52 F-1 but as I remember it was actually a '53 or 54 :confused:........hope you get to it before it's crushed.

C'mon up to Canada, home of the Mercury truck! We got lots of 'em. I have a '66 that's pretty good, and some 255 Merc flathead trucks too.
