Really nice body work zzrodder! Heres a few pic on my EZGO golf car rat rod. Its still not running, but getting close. The engine is a chevy 2.8 v6 with th350 trans. I'm at the point where I have to do some side work to get the extra money to spend more to finish the project.

Another superior effort, zz. I sure would like to be in your shop for the whole build. A person could learn a great deal watching you fabricate.

The cart reminds me a bit of the old Volksrods. Hmmm...Maybe after the Cadillac project, a rear engined, street legal mini-T???? Hyabussa powered??? Wheee!!!!!

Yeah the Volksrod thing did occur to me, here's a pic of one I took in 78 in Merced Ca. - maybe it was a subconcious sneak attack from the old memory bank :confused:. I've seen some crazy golf carts on youtube, including a Hayabusa one, I'd definitely hurt myself..

So how does it drive with the extra weight? I know you have taken it out, you drove it around before there was a body on it! :p

You know, it seems to move out really well, the wife and I took a spin around the cul-de-sac and it didn't seem sluggish at all, in fact, top speed is increased with the rear tires being 10" taller than stock. Hills may be a different story but this is pretty much going to be a flatlander.

Rat-on, you are a madman! That little six should really bark with those pipes, it should be a real blast to burn around in!![cl

Spent a couple days disassembling, welding all the body seams and grinding and re-assembling it - dirty & tedious but done!! Also mounted a couple HD Deuce tail lights out back. Today I made and mounted the front window frame, gave the side posts a bit of a curve, got started making the first bow - this is sort of trial and error, I've never made a top before but how hard can it be??

The electric motor on that cart may surprise you. The torque curve on those is basically a vertical line

Thanks all for the comments!
Got some more done on the top bows, just need to make a wood front header. Tomorrow I'll take it to my upholstery guy to see if he sees some changes needed to cover it - if it doesn't rain! (not a good thing with all that bare steel!)

Finished up the top structure with a wood front header, Also made the seat back and door panels, next week it goes in for upholstery and the top - this will be the first time I've sent a vehicle to the upholsterer before paint - no more scratches or gouges to a fresh paint job.

While waiting my turn at the upholstery shop I put in a piece of screen for the grille and took a couple of better outdoors pics.
