Hey, I used bearings from Tractor Supply. They are used for mower decks, and have a lip like described with 1 1/2" od , and 3/4" id. They were perfect for my column build. I did the exact thing and it costs me about $$20 to make. Those bearings aren't but about $5 each.

Thanx Blacksheep!! i will check it out for sure :)

I found this page someone did about lifting the bed of their s-10

Didn't find much for a pwr setup plus I am limited to how much room I have in the back of mine LOL but this is a cheap easy way of doing it and it will hold up good as well :)

Good Bed

Lucky that beds bad ass !!! If my project hadn't come with a new front bed panel and tailgate,I would have done something almost identical. A matter of fact I almost forgot I've got a new rear bed sill I need to get rid of,whenever I get time to post it.

Thanx bro!! This truck has been runnin around my brain for the last 5 or 6 years and it is great to see it finally runnin around in front of me!! :)

may not really work for most...but could look into the gas struts for rear hatches on most modern cars...would help the ease of lifting and dropping, but still need something to lock the bed in the up position.

Well I will have a small prop rod that wil lock in the upright position

Here are a few pics from today. Had to set the cab back on and get the hole for the master cut in the floor and get the steering and brake pedal holes cut
