It's been a while, progress has been slow but I have some updates and new pics. I finally returned from my military schools and have found some time to get back to work on the truck. I finished up my grill minus some grinding, got it mounted to the truck, made lower radiator mount. I mounted my headlight/shock mounts on the front end. Mounted my barrel to the rear and pretty much finished figuring out the front end. I finished up putting my doors together from the chop and am currently working on mounting up the seats so I can move forward and mount my steering box and brake pedal setup. This is where it is so far, let me know what you think.

I just have a question about these older 40s fords, can you put another motor like a 350 or 454 in vs the older Flathead v8 for replacement? I'm not usually a vehicle person, I just recently picked up a 46/47 Ford 1.5 ton truck, that been setting for years behind a house.
And how hard is it to get a new title for these trucks?

Welcome to the board.

Getting a title for your truck will depend on which state you live in. Some states make it easier to get a truck without a title, titled, but others can make it really hard. Maybe the state in which you live has a web site that can explain possible options on getting a title for a truck that doesn't have one.

Usually, you are way ahead if you can find a way to get a copy of the trucks original title.

Hopefully, the people that had possession of the truck for years, can help you get its original title, or at least jump start what every process your state requires to get a title.

I probably would not invest a lot of money into the truck until you figure out how you can title the truck, so you can buy plates, and will be able to drive it once completed.

Once you have a title, or at least have your States required process started, you can install any motor or drive train into the truck you want. Some drive trains are easier to install then others, but all require at least some custom fabrication to get the job done.

There are several build threads on this board. I suggest you look around and check out as many as possible.

I really do suggest you find out what is required to be able to get a title for this truck before you get too far into it. Getting titles is becoming increasing difficult in some states.

idaho,
the guy that did own it passed away, he had it quite a few years, as far as everyone knows,
he restored older Fords vehicles. I like the truck,It would make a great haul rig, I should of bought one of the vehicles that was in the garage, from the estate auction
