Nice. A Model A drag car probably shouldn't have drag radials. I'd do it though.:D

Ok, a drag car that gets driven to cruise nights. I'm thinking a highboy coupe, 32 frame rails and a full cage. Not 100% sure about rear suspension. Can't decide between modern drag race 4 link or P&J style ladder bars.

I'm thinking something like this with a hood and small headlights. ...and a 26 Willys whippet radiator

Ok , I've been playing with front wheels trying to figure out what I am going to build. I love the picture of that model a with the spindle mounts, but a 15 inch wheel looks ridiculous next to these 18x9.5 wheels. Also, I really think I need more rubber on the road for street driving.

I found two 16x5 I like. American Rebel sprints and Rocket Racing Solids. Not sure if one inch is enough to fix the proportion problem

If I go to 17's...I found a 17x6 I kinda like (not 100% sure I want try and polish them) and 17x7 that kinda has the vibe of 10 spokes (not sure anybody else will get what I'm going for).

Anybody have thoughts on having different style wheels on front and back?

Wasn't uncommon to have wires on the front and solid steel wheels in the back.

Not sure what size wheels are on the blue car, but this is what it felt like with the shinny 18 next to my 15" toyota wheel. Too big to pull off the"Ohio Look" to me.

The red 32 is not what I am building but the wheel sizes feel a little more sane for street duty.

I like the halibrand lookalikes too, I just don't like Billet Specialties prices. If I didn't get such a killer deal, I wouldn't have the rear ones.
Matching wheels for the front would be over $1000 without tires. Looking for something cheaper.

PANTHER!

man that has been bugging me since I saw your picture of the blue one. those wheels are called panthers, i remember those were some of the only cast wheels you could get with a super deep offset like that. my buddy had some on a dakota 4 dr yeeeears (almost decades) ago. I didnt care for them then either haha.

if you bought the first hali's for a steal then logically you would only have half price in the set if you bought the fronts for full price. [S I know your pain, have a set of stockton wheel reversed and super widened clip cap wheels, got em for $40, the fronts will cost me $400

I think I am going to order a pair of the 17 inch 10 spokes and try them with 205/55/17 tires.

They are going on the truck first. Hoping the drag radials help with the crazy fishtailing issues.

Edit: not a model A coupe, but I did find pics of a highboy with 17x7 and 18x10 wheels. It has a reasonable stance and should be able to turn or stop if needed.

The wheels are ordered...due middle of December..
These wheels weren't my first choice but $129 is way better than $519.

Pretty confident this will look spindlemount-ish stuffed under the truck front fenders. ....not so much hanging out in the breeze on the coupe.

Summit says that the spoke front wheels that I ordered are backorder until the end of March.

....So I bolted on the finned valve covers and air cleaner that I bought last year. Yeah, that's how my mind works.

Nah, you don't suck at buying yourself Christmas presents. You're investing in the future! [cl

Surely there's something else you can spend money on. What are you getting yourself for Valentine's Day? [S

I took the truck out this past Saturday and went to Cars and Coffee in Memphis, TN
