oopsie
we did it again
dawny and i just bought a 36 foot COMFORT 5th wheel camper
it is old (1987) so we got it cheap
bunkbed and futon in living room
good sized master bedroom
full size shower
washer dryer hookups
a lot of big windows
we go pick it up tomorrow

the daughter can stay in it until she gets settled here in nebraska
i wouldnt wanna try and live in a regular trailer here in the winter!

A guy wanted to trade me a 5th wheel for something. I never actually saw it, but he said that the paneling had all been taken out to rewire it and not yet put back in. New floors all the way through. I've had trailers before, but never a 5th wheel. Are they easier to tow, or harder? More convenient for camping and travel, or more trouble? I wouldn't mind the chance to go mobile ... ;)

WAY easier to tow.
and much easier to get hitched up than either a gooseneck or bumper pull
turning radius is much smaller and you can slowly make very sharp turns
and since the weight is directly over the rear axle
it is a smoother ride (seemed to me)
when i pulled my 27 footer from NM at one point i got tired
went back
cooked a bite to eat
and took a nap in my own bed
i had never had that option before and it was sweet

Yeah, that sounds pretty cool! Thanks for the info. I've been thinking of a way to travel without hotel expenses. Mobile and Free sounds Good to Me !!!

i got the removable REESE 16000lb hitch
that way when i am not actually towing
i dont have that big honkin hunk of steel taking up space in the bed

Nice. I've been thinking about something like that, maybe a little smaller, so I can go south in the winter.
I see a lot of them on the road and some of those newer ones with the walk in (or up) front bedroom look like they would be the shizzlin drits in a head wind.

Yup, me too!

Yeah, I think smaller for just me would be fine. Part of my motivation is to head NORTH in the summer and get out of the heat, so same motivation from a different perspective. :)

it has been in a farmers(nice guy BTW) barn for the past 6 years
so everything is dusty.
my bride likes it so much she wants to keep it
i figure we done good for $2500

You guys looking for a get a way camper, I have a 26.5' 2008 nomad for sale. I lived in it while working out of town and it's not bad for two people. I'm asking $8500.

Don't mean to hijack your thread Billy!
