We have been in contact with both insurance companies, ours and his, the car will be getting fixed, they are even getting us a rental for while it's in the shop..... That baby is going to see more air time than a skate board at the XGames!!!!

Glad your ordeal is going smooth. It's been 12 days since my accident and I've only got the lady's insurance to return one of my calls. I don't even have a claim number yet.

Don, you should live around here where half the people drive 4 door duallys and try to squeeze them into those spaces. Or even worse yet is that a bunch of them never unhook the goose neck stock trailer and still try to get as close to the front door as they can.
My first wife used to get mad because I'd go about 6 spaces past the last car just so I didn't get doored. ALL of us Americans are so dam lazy we won't walk an extra 100 feet to park out at the end. Cabella's is about the only big parking lot I see, don't do Mal-Wart, Lowe's, Home Depot, Target or any mall.

You are right WB, that was how I bumped into the other guy. There was a Cadiillac Escalade right next to me and I was trying to back out and miss his rear quarter, concentrating all my attention on his car and not seeing the guy also backing out behind me. He evidently didn't see me either until the thud.

My Son Dan parks his Dodge Ram at the very end of every parking lot we go to, away from every other car. We always have a long walk to the store or restaurant, but his truck is 4 years old and doesn't have a nick on it, so I guess it it worthwhile to protect it any way you can. Me, I am lazy and just pull into any spot that is open, but I have my share of door dings to show for it.

The reason why? The Vehicle Code doesn't apply to private property, any violation is a civil matter. Our Department has a form, used by the CHP called a P.D.O. ) property damage only). I hand it to the reporting party and have them fill it out. Then I add a file number.
