So I am relatively new to the parenting scene. My first is a year old next week and wow has he become a handful. he is into absolutely everything. Lol just keeps us on our toes constantly. Well he was as usual into everything and pinched his finger so my wife takes him in the kitchen calms him down and puts him in his high chair turns away to get his food and he kamikazes out of the high chair face first into the hard floor. :(. So the nurse told us to watch him every so often so here I am not able to sleep worrying about him and checking on him. :(

It is one of the scariest times when they are little like that. I remember times we took ours to the emergency room and didn't know if they would make it or not. They are just so fragile when they are young. We went in one morning to visit our Sons, who were premature, and the nurse said "We almost lost Dan last night !" Not exactly what a parent wants to hear.

I would like to tell you that they finally get to an age where you don't worry about them, but mine will be 42 next Sunday and I still worry like h*** about them. But being a parent is also the most rewarding thing you will ever do.

I hope your little one is ok from his fall.

It's OK YBeNormal ur acting Normal and it's normal for normal kids to do crazy stuff like that. It's how they learn. It's when they don't learn that it aint so normal and that can be an indication that they ain't normal........that's when you worry.....normally. Have fun, it goes by quick. I got 2 girls and a boy 21, 19 and 18.

Kids

Wait until they get older. Cars School college . Ours have been into just about everything at one time or another. Gotta be strict sometimes and still got to remember what you got away with as a kid! :D

Definitely good luck with keeping him out of things, time to baby proof things a bit.

0-4 is my least favorite time, the older my daughter gets, the more fun it is to me.
It is joyful seeing them learn things for the first time, and experience things for the first time, and to remember some of the things they say, but I still like being able to have a conversation with my daughter rather than guess what might be wrong...

I feel your pain brother..My youngest is almost 15 months old and is into absolutely everything!!! Did a face plant into the coffe table a few days ago, by the time I could take 3 steps to get him picked up, he had blood everywhere..cut the inside of his top lip with his teeth when he hit the table..scared me pretty bad for a minute until I could figure out exactly where it was coming from..

He has already found my tools..haha

One Christmas we bought my two Sons a pair those inflatable boxing gloves and they were roughousing with them. Dan somehow got hurt and we ran him to the emergency room, Turned out to be a broken collarbone.

The Doctors at the hospital started asking us some very pointed questions about how it happened and after a while my Wife and I realized they were suspecting child abuse ! After they asked all of us a lot of questions, including Dan who was about 6 at the time, I started to get a little hot under the collar and told them they were barking up the wrong tree, and they backed down. I realize they have an obligation to look for signs that a child was abused, but kids are forever running into stuff and hurting themselves. If we had to explain every black on blue mark on our kids they would think we were beating the h*** out of them.

How is your boy today ?

I have a 2 1/2 year old boy who has recently learned to grab the screwdriver out of the junk drawer and unscrew the little white plastic screws that hold the trim on the fridge!

Before he was born the Drs told us there is a good chance he had a major chromosome defect and would not live long. Turned out not to be the case, but we were worried sick for months.

He has a birthmark on his back that looks like a faint bruise. Daycare was asking us quite alot of questions about that one, I suppose supsecting abuse. When I fig'd that out, I was furious at the insult, but it's the right thing to do.

He came home from school with 1/2 his face covered in a big oozing scab recently. Apparently he was running full speed and face planted on the brick walkway. The teachers were terrified I would come in there and raise hell (I didn't). I bet some modern parents would have just about called a lawyer over that.

The first year for me was the worst. Not being able to communicate was so frustrating to me and I wasn't used to spending hours entertaining. Now it's great.

cosby

watch a video called; bill cosby, himself; taped 1983 but still spot on.

very funny, first part is about going to the dentist and parting, it's part 2 about kids, it's soooooooooo true....................

Later

little ones.

Hey man you ain't seen nothing yet You will really be on your toes when the Terrible 2s come around. You'll always worry but if you are to careful with them they'll never learn on their own. You are just being a regular parent.

Guess he might be a quick learner. We have fought him tooth and nail to stay seated and so far tonight he's not trying to stand up in the high chair at all. [cl

yeah kids can be a handful....

My oldest son was always into the cupboards....had to install the locks....he figured those out so we moved anything that he could put in his mouth up high...
The youngest son was into everything....jumping.....climbing, falling, climbing falling....pulled the door down on the stove and climbed on top of the door...electric range ended up on top of him...broke his leg....we were in the ER about once a month until age 2....had it been in todays world, we'd probably be investigated repeatedly by DHS!! You'll be fine and so will he...just have to get the hang of knowing what he's into all the time....it takes some practice...lol...

My youngest son took a fall face first and knocked himself out, same one hit by truck at 25mph, bounced and rolled and walked away, My daughter had heart surgery before she was 10 yr old, my oldest almost drown after getting stuck under an inner tube in a wave pool, was unconsious for 10 minutes. I have lots of gray hair but everybody is still alive. Youll be fine

Ybenormal, ya better get used to it cause its gonna get worse! I have 7 kids and probably have seen it all ...broken bones, cuts, bruises, stitches, scrapes of all types....kids are pretty resilient when it comes to falling...the worse for me was when my 3rd son was 5 and fell on the sidewalk and broke his arm. The staff took him into another room and questioned him on how it happened. They kept asking him if I did it to him and he kept telling them no, but no one seemed to listen.....a very long night! Glad your little one is ok.
