I think that's the last time I sell a car out of state, especially when the buyer doesn't come look at the car. It bother me so much, I didn't fall asleep till 4 in the morning.

How is the new owner dealing with it? Give you any grief? Good thing you took those pics!
The new owner offered to pay for it in a wire transfer, but I told him to bring a cashiers check when he came for the car. I didn't want his money till he was satisfied with what he was getting. I offered to pick him up at the airport. On the day he was supposed to arrive, he canceled and wired the money. Then he said he was going to drive it home but because of work, he decided to ship the car home.

Even though he blames the shippers, he sends e-mails telling me all about it. I feel bad for the guy, but there's nothing I can do. Once he paid me, I sent him the title and bill of sale, plus I sent him pictures, license plate numbers and vin number and I told him, it was for his insurance company. Just in case it was damaged by the shippers or there was a traffic collision.

Gasser,
That is so common. The shipper screwed the hood on Chevelle up & I never could get the $$$ out of them... cost me a grand to repair & repaint the hood & I used a pretty big well known shipper.

BoB

Sons-a-*******! Feel free to post their name and tell everyone not to use them. Email them the link and tell them if they pay up you'll have it removed ;)

You've done your part and more. It's obvious that you would have kept the car until he could see it, and drive it home.

You can't control the shippers, and you can't control the insurance companies. That's for him to deal with. You sent the car in good faith, everything else is BS you don't need.

Sleep well Gasser, it's not your problem.

I agree doc...

Gasser's obligations ended when the buyer wouldn't come to even view the car...... sorry that he had issues with the tranporter but that is not Gasser's issue.....you can feel bad for him but not your fault nor your problem anymore..

I agree also...you sound like a truly honest guy and you seem to have went above and far beyond what any normal seller would have done. The world could use a few more people like you!
