When the other kids were starting the smoking thing i automatically had to go the other way and not follow the herd. Also i knew myself well enough to know that i have no self discipline and would never be able to stop if i started.
Besides, for the price of a 50 cent pack of suckerettes i could get two gallons of gas. :)

I smoked for 32 years and i quit a year ago 8/28/11 im still having a hard time with it because every one at work smokes. had to quit drinking beer because every time i drank one i wanted a smoke. I tried everything to quit because of heart problems and i finally used chantix and it worked great.:D

Quit drinking is EASY, or was for me. Drink a bottle of Everclear, wake up from a alcihol induced coma, and trust me, you will flinch at the smell of booze. Ahh to be young and dumb again [P

Another random pointless smoking fact, Jackie Kennedy chain smoked Salems but had an agreement with the press that they would never take a picture of her doing it. Not so with John F. I guess since I have seen pictures of him smoking.

Been smoking for 9 years. I used to work outside in construction, so it was a 2-3 pack a day habit
Now I'm down to about a pack a day. It really is a lifestyle. I would like to quit, but I'm not quite ready. It's habit for me to light up first thing in the morning, last thing at night, right after I eat, every time I get in the truck, always have one hangin out while in the garage. I'd be lost if I didn't have that to do with each "trigger"

I've always packed mine and I notice when they aren't packed. Seems the packed cig provides a more concentrated smoke. If I don't pack my Kools, I feel like I'm smoking Lights.

Many years back I had a manager that tried to quit. He had tried several times before, but this time he swore it was the last time. Well, that only lasted about a week & a half. We started giving him a hard time about it (in a joking manner) and his response was "Hey, anyone can quit smoking, it takes a real man to fight cancer!"
I thought it was funny at the time - until I watched my mother & father both die from cancer caused by smoking. I don't wish that upon anyone. Having to watch someone die like that, or having to go through that.

I guess i'm a dirty, filthy, disgusting, nasty, stinking human being. I've also been known to pee in the pool!:D I guess i need to get some of that Zion literature.

if you really want to make somebody mad. when you see them throw a butt down tell them i wish i could afford to throw quarters on the ground all the time.

Smoked cigs for years until they got so high, I switched to the small cigars several years back. Go through about 2 packs of 20 a day, some days more, some less, just depends on how long the day is. Sitting in the truck, driving miles on miles, smoke, drink cold drinks {no coffee, never got a taste for it}, ride, ride, ride. Hard to quit that way. I tried a few times, cold turkey, nearly went crazy, tried the gums and patches and pills, no luck. Tried some of the nicotine inhalers, they just made me sick with a headache.

I try to be more respectful nowadays, when I was younger I didn't give a hoot if you liked it or not. I guess age changes all of us.

And as to the original question, I've never felt the need to pack a pack. I just smoke'm like they come outta the pack....

Hypnosis for you guys trying to quit. Try electronic cigs to quit or at least cut back. I feel for ya. I quit several years ago - so far, hardest thing I've ever done.
