The place I rent for my business (not auto related, unfortunately) has a garage in the basement, and it flooded this last weekend. I had been working on some stuff in there, and had left my ratchet on the floor. This had happened once before, but after the township fixed the drain out at the street, I figured it wouldn't flood any more. The first time it happened some years ago when I had left tools on the floor, I just soaked them all in used ATF. But it kept coming out of the ratchets for a long time. So this time, after soaking it (fortunately only one of them this time), I dismantled it to clean out the excess oil.

So what kind of oil or light grease should I put in there? (It's an old Craftsman, and does have a ball deal for oiling.)
