Woke up this grand Christmas morning, missing the kids excitement when they were young and at home. Kinda bummed out.

Sad to wake up a lonely old man!

I'm sure I'll get over it when all 8 grand kids, my three kids, their spouses, my mother and a couple of old folks that I don't even know, invade the house for dinner tonite.

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas is a lot more fun seeing it through a childs eyes. Actually, now that I think about it, life is kinda like that too. Have a good Christmas Day.

As a kid, I can remember waking up Christmas morning and seeing the presents Mom and Dad put under the tree. They were as excited as my two sisters and I to see us tearing into the packages.
They'll be there soon and all heck will break loose

It was fun when we were kids, and it was fun with our kids.

Wife woke up sick this morning, so nothing going on here today.:( Was supposed to go to my Mom's today, but don't want to take a chance of carrying anything to her, so we'll be staying home. :(

I'm right there with you. First time ever waking on Christmas alone! Sad but I know how it'll change in a few hours! Have a merry Christmas everyone!

i never had kids myself
but i have lots of friends kids that adopted me as an uncle.
i dont have any of those around this year.
i remember once that my buddy debi left her boy jake with me for the day
she came home that night and this is what went on
her- hi honey. did you have a nice day with uncle bill?
jake- I'll say! he taught me to drive a stick shift and shoot a 12 gauge!

he was four.........

Just back from a daylight ride to my Daughter's house to watch the grandboy open his gifts. We ate breakfast together afterwards. It was a good time but far removed from the old days. It was fun to watch him but I think they get a little spoiled nowadays. He got a foot pedaled gocart and had so much stuff from other presents, he covered it completely and you couldn't see it. I did get to see him riding it around and it seemed to carry most of his interest while I was there...maybe there's hope for him yet! Now, off to some friends where there'll be more food that can be eaten for the afternoon feast...Merry Christmas!

Remember the troops

I didn't realize it at the time, too young, too immature, etc., but every Christmas Eve my Dad would gather us all around the tree and to sing Christmas carols. I hated it, now I realize how foolish I was. Dad said we were singing the carols for all the "GI's" who wouldn't be home for Christmas. You see, my father was a veteran of both the Army and Navy. He was discharged from the Army in 1939, married my mother and when WWII broke out he enlisted in the Navy and spent the next 6 years in the south pacific with the Seabees digging airstrips.

Now I realize what a great man he was. RIP Dad and Merry Christmas to you and all the "GI's" around the world who won't be home for Christmas. Godspeed.

Christmas is just so special when there are kids around. I absolutely LOVED Christmas when my two were young and usually couldn't wait until Christmas eve to give them their stuff. One year I got a huge bonus check in Sept and the wife and went out and bought all their gifts early.......dirt bike, tv's, boom boxes, etc. BIG MISTAKE. By November I had gotten antsy and had given them all their stuff (the wife was REAL happy about that !) so we had to go out and buy more gifts to give them at Christmas.

My Son Don and his GF and my ex wife are coming over today to join Dan and me for dinner and gift exchange, so that will be nice. I even get to cook Christmas dinner this year. :D

All nine grandkids (pictured) and their mommies and daddies got together with the little woman and me Christmas eve. The two youngest, 3 year old Matthew and 18 month old Charlotte provided the entertainment as they shredded wrapping paper to get to the goods. Matthew got a bunch of Star Wars figures just like his dad did 30-odd years ago.

I made the rounds to 2 sisters yesterday and all three today, their kids and grandkids. Daughter didn't come up this year because she is going to New York next week. No sign of Christmas in my house this year. I'm ok. Stuffed

Spent pretty much the whole day sick in bed this year. And I had the flu shot, too. Feel like asking for a refund.... (Fat chance of that happening.)
