drivers

almost done with the drivers side[;)

dog approved[cl

the headlight brackets are part of a 3-link circle track rear-end pieces l got at the used race car parts store, lots of cool stuff that can be re-purposed for other uses at that place:D

gas tank shelf is a old dryer face, will work fine for what l need and is a good mounting point for things.

the dash and headlights/taillights are on the list along with the roll bar, hoping we can get them all installed before the show on sunday.

Later

outside

we moved THAT outside for a better view of her, kinda weird looking, but l like it, defiantly different from the "normal" car crowd.

l like the rake the windshield will be.

from outside to outside tires in the rear measure 77 inches and front tires measure 67 inches outside to outside with a 11O inchwheelbase.

What's That?

If you squint just a little bit, and hold your head kinda like this, it actually looks petty close to normal. :D [cl

that 3/4 view is quintessential rat rod!
The 3/4 view is the quintessential any car shot. One even got my photo on the cover of the local news paper entertainment section many years ago.

And you are right, on THAT, it really makes it look normal. [clGood shot for sure.

dash

l took her for a ride today to put gas in the tow rig, people seem to like it.
got lots of positive comments.

dash is mostly in, working on the list slowly.

Been wonder'n about "That" [S

Thanks fer the offer to bring that "bargain" up here Skull. Similar size to a tiny house. Could easily find myself living in it if not careful. I eat those burgers also..lol :D

leaked

we went to fire up the engine and a bolt was broke off in the timing chain cover where it meets the oil pan gasket , oil leaked out the front everywhere so the previous owner tried siliconing the crap outta the timing chain cover to stop it, needless to say it did not work,.

bought the stuff to fix it & now finding time to get the parts put in is on hold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is why l can't have nice things:rolleyes:

WHY[S 'couse l broke the thirty, tore out a axle seal and ate the axle bearing on the driver side. been putting my time, effort & money into getting the running/driving one back on line before projects.

figured while the the 3Oish is apart it is a good time to put in both new axle seals and both new axle bearings while l am in the process of the rearend fix. l did score a 3:5O semi-locker/posi slug a few months and been looking for a reason/time for installing them. since l got it tore apart now l will stick them in when l reassemble everything.

with those gears it outta really wake those 375 horses up:D

this is why l can't have nice things:rolleyes:

that time

since the 3Oish is up & running good, time to get back on THAT to be ready for the August car show,

so now l am ready to commence with the fun---

l took the oil pan/timing chain cover apart today and cleaned what seemed like 5 gallons of silicone off the front of the motor & oil pan, l have a new timing chain cover so that helps with that area of the fix.

it was cheaper to buy the cover, seal and gaskets from Da'Bay than the separate parts and NO cover locally.

l was meticulous in cleaning up the surfaces so it will not have this problem again.
