Well here is one, a favorite spot with a colorful history, trading post, saloon, brothel, restaurant, motel....dating back to 1889, the current structure expanded before 1925. I am sure that fellow Floridians here on this forum would know about it.
The Desert Inn at Yeehaw Junction, also known as "******* Crossing"
The brothel, last used in 1946, which is that upstairs overhang was recently restored, and the gas pump when the place was a filling station in the 30's, still has its gas pump from that period, seen on right.
This place was a cool stopping point, A National Historic Landmark, documented hauntings, ghosts of the dead from shootings and suicides in the upstairs brothel, and a lot of fun, from the big phony spider that would drop down on unsuspecting out of towners, the microphone in the ladies room, and just very fun loving country atmosphere....until this happened just before this past Christmas:
The truck driver said it was so dark he didn't realize he left the road, and my guess is that at the last minute his headlights illuminated the structure and he stood on the brakes with his load of orange juice and jackknifed into the place. When they pulled the truck out, the restored brothel collapsed, the vintage pump fell over and broke.
The place was temporarily closed and was willed to the county for further restoration. Now its future could be history.

My beef, is that they should have kept it lit up, spend 15 minutes at this desolate crossroads and you can see that this was bound to happen.
If you do a search you will see news reports and a youtube interview with the truck driver, as well as other history and stories.
