I decided to use the 16' plank and rip it because the chines are something you just don't want to skimp on, OI
As it is there is still a debate about laminating vs using solid wood. As this wood becomes harder to find in long lengths more people are turning to laminating. If done correctly there should be no issues.
Some shops are using white oak for chines as it is easier to get in full lengths and Is more rot resistant then Mahogany. The down side is that it's so hard, screws tend to snap off in it if not careful.
First layer done. 2nd one tomorrow.

OK. Hopefully I can get back to this one as well.
Bro -in- law stopped by today with the needed marine ply for the inner layer of the bottom.
Guess I need to get back to it.
Got all the parts and pieces he brought last visit stashed away. Looks like a boat again.
Nothing do it but to do it.....

Isn't the steering on the wrong side? [S I know you could make it work, though.

If you need one, I know a guy with one in his rafters. :D

Enough with the excuses. Time to get back on the boat.
Of course it starts with moving all the crap that gets stacked on a dormant project.
And just to show that I have been totally sitting around.....
My family banded together and got Dad a New electric bass for Christmas.:D
I put all the og style bling on it. Shown with my 1970's Fender Musicmaster bass amp.

Play something for us, Torchie. :p

.

I'm listening :cool::cool:[P[P

First thing I learned when I played for a living is, "The more you play for free. The more you play for free."
I am supposed to be getting in shape to accompany a lady singer this coming summer, that used to sing with my funk band. Just her on guitar and me on bass. In a small local bar. Which is good as that is about all that my hearing can take anymore.
We shall see.....
