    9in Rear End..............errr, huh?

The "L" stands for limited slip, which is most likely a Tracloc, commonly used in Fords. They are a clutch type unit, are rebuildable, and available in 28 or 31 splines. The 3.00 gear isn't bad for a driver up to 4000# with a tire up to 28" tall, a non overdrive trans, most stockish V8s and...

    Intake

Try looking for a tunnel ram/air gap that is damaged... cut the bottom portion away from the rest, and you have a good base that already fits, with the ports where they need to be. LRR

Breaking in a cam and the correct oil

Most of what you mentioned is good for flat tappet cams, roller cams are not as picky. My engine builder suggests that you just prime the pump by hand until it starts to build pressure, as to not flush any assembly lube away. It has also been recommended for me to only use the outer springs, and...

40 Ford truck vs. car front fenders?

What is the difference between 40 Ford truck and car front fenders? I can see the difference in the rear fenders, since the truck would bolt to a flat bed side and the cars have a curve where they bolt to the body. Thanks in advance. LRR

    what about a datsun?

Not a datsun... I helped a friend set a 40 Ford 2 door sedan on a 79 Toyota 2wd frame for a rough mock up. The dimensions were very close to what the sedan was, width, length, wb... it fit very nice. Uses 4 on 4.5" bolt pattern, many different suspension parts available, as well as several swap...

    Ford Duraspark no spark

The GM module is a decent low cost alternative... if you have messed up wiring and don't want to use a factory harness, as not everyone has access to them at a reasonable price. My experience has been that in a situation like this, a ground is overlooked, or you possibly burned the resistor...

Anyone have a checklist or step-by-step?

Personally, I would worry about finding a rig I liked or had to have before I buy all the extras. If you end up finding something you can't live without that won't fit/look right on an S10 frame, then you have an extra S10 chassis. Who knows, maybe you will find one already on a good chassis, or...

    Engine test stand

I built mine set up for an engine and trans, so I could test them as I pull them out of the donor. Most of what I mess with is BBF/C6, so I made it a little larger than many will want or need, and it is very stable. I used .125"-.250" wall tubing, depending on what was available in my stash...

Water tank for a gas tank

Old, used air tanks may/may not have a drain in the bottom used for draining moisture... most will have some corrosion in them, which is a bad thing to have in your fuel tank. LRR

    Cam,and rearend help

That cam has a operating range of 2500-6500. It isn't going to have much low end, especially with those gears and a stock stall. LRR

    Why do you...

This may be part of it. I have found that at times I have several tabs opened while doing a search, and I could see getting the wrong forum if you do some late night posting when you aren't paying attention. Or, I guess it could be a lazy thing? I try to at least preview posts before I hit...
