That's going against the grain Torchie, most guys want to go to a open driveshaft! :D

And what are those things that look like grinding rocks?

Morel Mushrooms. That's what $40.00 a pound looks like if you were to buy them Bama[S

Nice trans[cl takes more skill doing it your way[ddd[;)

So do you eat them or smoke them[S

Well now that you mention it soltz........;)
I dried these as I can't cook them up like I used too. Dredged in flour and Saute'd in Butter.[dr

Spent the morning ordering parts.

And Man. Did it feel good.:D :D :D
Misc brake and old Ford parts from Mac's.
Trans seals, gaskets and the ultimate Ford trans book from VanPelts.
Olds Rocket gasket kit and water pump from my friend at my local Auto Value store.
And tomorrow I am ordering the Wilcap Ford trans to Olds engine adapter kit from Speedway.
The next few weeks are going to be spent on mechanical aspects. My goal is to have the brakes finished and drive train installed by the middle of June.
Then back onto the body work.
Thanks for visiting with me....

Christmas in June

I've been trying to do bodywork after getting it running, driving tends to slow the build down but it's sure fun [cl
Glad your doing well!

That ought to keep you busy for a while. I'm glad to hear you're still working on your ride. Keep pluggin brother.

Nice to see progress, I wish I could say the same about mine. Haven' been able to work on it in months.

Hang in there kenny.
I had some very dark thoughts about having to sell this one. But after a long talk with one of my health team about the benefits I get from having something to work on and the help of some friends I am going to get back at it.[cl
Keep on keeping on.....
Torchie.

I know that everyone complains about serv ice and such.....

But man. That was fast.
Thanks Mac's.[cl [cl [cl :D

Todays Efforts.

Since it not snowing..............;)
Dragged(and I do mean dragged) the 2 transmission out into the drive to give them a quick power wash.
Pic 1-3. To bad they are not sled dogs. I could have used the help pulling.
Not great but at least i can see the heads of the bolts now.

Pics 4-6. Up on the bench. First thing is to remove the collar that is used to mate the trans to the later style flat head block.
Pics 7-8. Removed the rear bearing retainer/rear trans mount.
Pic 9. Pulled the shift tower cover. Forks look good.[cl
Pic 10. Not so good. Explains the metal pieces I found when I pulled the drain plug. Not really an issue though as I am using the gear cluster from the 48 side shift trans. Going to get to that one tomorrow.
Thanks for looking in...........
Torchie
