Yeah--I plan to run it out in the yard pretty soon to make sure things are OK before I burn the tail in. I've got most things screwed or lightly welded that may need changed. DJ had a good suggestion to pop rivit some parts in that I'm not sure about, and see if they grow on me., May do that to the tail extension--I can't seem to get one I like, but the blunt end needs something even if its wrong. Wrong is just the first step to getting it right.

I've been doing stuff thats not too visible, like bracing up the tail so it will hold a kid sitting on it, I think the tail is just asking for a kid dent. Also Might be a parade ride for a Goth Homecomming Queen or something, so need to have a solid seat back there on the wide flat part of the tail.

I've been going outside my little shop and looking in the side window so I can get a little bit of a stand off view of the car to try and get the pieces on right. Its weird--feels like I'm a peeping Tom or something .. In defense of this little dinky shop--It's been mid 90s here with 70+% humidity and the $40 AC unit in the wall cools the 16X35 space quick and comfortably, where lots of guys I know with big nice shops around here, are already just about done for the summer.

I hope to have some roll out pics in a few days.

Going to wrap up the tail rough in tomorrow probably. I screwed and tagged the tail extension on and cut some axle covers from the old Buick hood. Tried to make the tail have a similar profile and base as the fenders, and I'm thinking about taillights. It would be easier to just mount them to the Axle Cover, but some pods would look better.

Tomorrow I have a bunch of Home stuff to do --Mow--grade the diveway and blade my sons new garage site, but hope to cut the front lower hood pieces if I get time.

--Thanks--I've been trying to come up with a name for the old girl. The 'Junk in the trunk' is JaLo stuff.. Might name her Jalo. Add that to my list.

Fat Fanny-The Naughty Nanny--

Not planning a gravel pan in this stage, just the axle covers--I'm in a little hurry as I'd like to get it streetable in a couple months to do a little cruze in a nearby town in August. We cruze thriugh a park and get to talk to the people as we drive, and then there's a burnout contest at a burgerjoint --good redneck fun--An old friend usually helps organize it, so I support it all I can..

Right now the gas tank is right behind the seat--big 16 gallon thing I got outta the Coupe. I have welded in some mounts under the axle covers that would hold a small 8 gallon round tank like I have for the 33 Dodge PU, and if I like this car as a driver, I'll need the 'trunk' space behind the seat, so may move it back there and add a gravel shield later.

Yeah I agree the caddy lights are not 'right'. I'm looking at some MC taillights on Ebay--6" long--might look good on the axle covers.. Heres acouple 'tries' with lights I have. The little lights hung under the ACs are OK, I might get a couple amber ones for blinkers and do like Andre suggested. The 58 Chevy ones are too big--Too bad- I like em, but not here I guess.

I'm thinking about Running Boards, and the front of the rear fenders are nasty--I'll need to do something about them.

Kinda a lot to do.

Thanks for the input and suggestions guys--always appreciated. This may be one of those 'Love it or Hate it' Cars. I'm gettin about a 50/50 reaction from visitors. Some dont' get it at all, and other fellas won't go home... (Probably the AC in the shop)??

The ebay lights mounted vertical and frenched into the fenders would be nice. ..... or maybe bottom half frenched / top half hooded.

or maybe something more hidden. french bigger round lights really deep into the rear fenders and make grills or louverd covers that keep the shape of the fenders. If painted body color, they really wouldn't show up until the lights are on.

No running boards. Round the lower front side of the fender and maybe make a shinny stone gaurd. I will try and find pics of what I'm talking about.
