Well guys kinda new here. been layin back checkin out everyones awesome projects, trying to figure out if i was gonna post my project on here but here she goes I suppose. I have also not done anything to this extreme! I picked this 1970 F100 Ranger off a trade a while back and decided she was too rusty too actually restore so i figured i would chop here up and build a Rat/street rod. Doin all of this in a small garage/outside with limited tools but I think i will make do. Here are some specs. 360 BB, C6 tranny and 9" rear, all numbers matching LWB truck. Ran strong when disassembled as well. Here are pics of what i have done so far. I figured the cab needed to be skinnier, so I cut some out the middle and just cut the top for a 6 inch drop tonight. Gonna channel it some and replace the fire wall with a smooth chunk metal.

Took it outside to make sure body lines were spot on and hang the doors in prep for chop.

That's it for now. tomorrow morning before we start the Easter festivities i plan to grind the tack welds on the roof and quarter it then start the filling in process!

That is down right freakin' cool! Can't wait to see where this is going.

What are you planning for a windsheild? That curved glass will be a bitch to find something to cut and fit the cab........

Build looks sweet!!! Neat concepts!! But yea the windshield will be a fun one.
And Holy sideways scrolling Batman!!! It was like a game to find all the text!!! LOL

Im not sure exactly what im gonna do for a windshield yet. I was thinking plexy glass will be the way to go? I know its gonna be fun. sorry for all the scrolling, pics are a bit big...lol Ill see if i cant make them a bit smaller next time.

Cool

Around some parts of the country, a guy with a rusty cab is cussing you for carving up a solid one. But it's yours, so do whatcha want. I dig it.

I may be doing that.... I keep looking at those cab mounts thinking of how I need to fix my 70 tow truck....

awesome!

ive been doing the same thing with a '64. how much did you cut out of the center? What axles you ganna run? On the windshield with a little metal work you could run a flat windshield, just a thought. Your truck is ganna be cool !

Well sorry it's been a couple months since i got to work on the ol ford. Spring hit and had to finish a few projects outside and i had to leave town for a month for work. Military obligations. Well I cut 23 inches out of the middle and six out of the top. I plan on running the original 9" and as far as the front idk if im gonna swap to a solid I beam axle or get the 3" drop ones for this and z the frame. Its is bulky up front though that's why i am thinking about switching. Got back on the truck today though and got the four corners of the roof tacked back on. A little adjustments to though and it's on the welding it all up!
