Been really busy with the new job and taking back all my customers.:D But have found a little time to work on the Dodge. Parts are really slow to arrive, almost three weeks for anything from Fleabay.

Keeping with the more is better theme, the trans mount is finished.

That's some nuclear grade fabrication. [cl

What's with the "heat and beat" dimple at the bottom of your last picture?

.

Clearance for the mount bolt?[S
Some serious thought put into that creation [cl[cl

Yup the mount bolt is 4.5"long, once I get it all stripped down for welding I'm gonna cut the "heat and Beat out and weld a small piece of curved steel in place.

Thanks.

Progress, front bag mounts were a pain in the kister. Had to remove the Hortons upper spring perches, then fashion an upper plate to bring the mount down to the "sweet spot" for the bag. The lower plate had to angle in to keep the bag parallel at ride height.

I ended up using heavy duty 2600# bags rated at 3049 lbs each, should be enough for the BBD.

Super fab work. That's the part I like the most about building. I'm also known for overkill...I guess it's a holdover from my Navy days...I make everything "sailor-proof".

Passenger side is done and the bags got aired up for the first time. :D I was really worried about the weight of the big block, and reading bad situations where you need over a 100psi to lift the front end. Chassis tech told me there was no way to put anything bigger than a 2200 lb bag in a Mustang II suspension and they may not lift. These 2600# HD bags fit with only minor clearance issues and lift the chassis to level at 42 PSI :D[cl

Looks good. I'd make sure you have extra clearance for the bags. More than you think you need. I have had chafing on my chevy from the mustang ii suspension. It has plenty of clearance or so it looks like when air up.

It's getting closer!!!!

Looks Great!
You guys are light years ahead of me when it comes to changing out front suspensions. Although I am contemplating a sub frame swap for the Dodge if it ever reaches that point.[ddd
