thanks guys!
been a little bit, still busy
I bought a mafia staff car
the nice woman selling us the new property, she was having some trouble with the car and was going to trade it in for basically the cost of the diagnostic at the dealer. I said I would be interested and bought it for more than that, which made us both happy but the dealer a little salty. it was knocking like a landlord but UNDER the car, not in the engine. removed the cat and it was loud but no more knock.
visited dan and his truck is really coming along great. we got the windshield installed in less than 4 minutes, steele rubber is the difference, really works nice.
been selling mounts, local guys are really excited. I just designed a V2 that has provisions to bolt on even though I wouldnt personally bolt body mounts on. one guy asked if I needed a grille, I traded him a staggered set of 14" wheels (rare 14x6 station wagon rears) and expected it to be a 2 ton truck grille, I was happy to find it was a 1/2 ton 54! now I have a complete front clip for a 54, maybe that baby coe I keep talking about.
I also did another set of parts for a local shop and they tipped me a 57 grille for my 56 project!
the staff car was still idling rough, google said northstars are hard on the intake coupler to the throttle body, so I pulled it and replaced it and the intake gaskets. check out where the starter is!
took a shakedown cruise and stopped at a semi local yard that said they had a driveshaft online but didnt state a price. $40! it even had the inner clip type rear u joint that I needed.
installed the flange pinion adapter and the driveshaft. perfect fit! 53"
got the carpet, went with tan and dropped the seat off for covering in gold to match the dash
the s10 shortbed bed floor is just a little short so I cut down the front wall of the s10 bed and folded it flat to match the front wall of the 48 bed.
nick dropped off his 42 at the shop, I will put it on an s10 frame for him probably in september.
the orange peel in the dash was bothering me so I wet sanded it with some 2000 and reshot it. much nicer!
yesterday I tried bleeding the brakes and of course the front caliper bleeders were stuck. a 1 hour job took most of the day with new calipers and bleeding. but with the driveshaft in it runs drives and stops.
more soon!
