No, just some cool pictures. We had a big storm last week, and a little one a couple of days ago. But we are back above freezing and are thawing out now.

Whew!! Be-U-T-full!!! Real art.. I made it my wallpaper... I lived/worked in Leadville & BuenaVista in the late 70s, early 80s in the last Gold boom (before this one).. Kinda like being on the moon for an Arkie hilbilly, but striking country..

Yep, I'm from south Beirut at the edge of town just before you enter the bush country. I think Rainman is from up near the mountains to the north.

I forget to say, I feel more like I do right now, than I did awhile ago!

It all depends on how you look at some things...

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California , was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.

The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:

On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'

So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.

Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:

"Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

It may have been a brief moment in time, but a lot of those old surf tunes are still good. Some of the best axe playing and ahead of their time. I still have a few of them, like the Ventures, **** Dell and the Delltones They always seem to make ya put your foot a lil deeper into the gas peddle.

So I thought I had a ghost in my shop... I kept feeling a cool breeze from time to time.
Then I found out we are having the coldest December in the last 100 years here. I am ready to get a blast of warmer weather to get rid of some of this snow. My firewood pile is dropping fast. (rant over)

What? 2009 is the 5th warmest year on record. Ya just need to thicken that blood up! I'm good down to about 10 degrees before my fingers start freezing up too fast to work on anything - that's when I start drinkin' "anti-freeze".
