Update!

Everything ok here for now. Tore my yard & landscaping up big time but still have power & internet which is a miracle. 96% of people in our area are without power! After the big blow this morning I am *very* surprised we stiil have power! It was pretty bad... & will take forever to clean all this mess up... streets are basically impassable right now.

Sounds like it got nasty for sure. Its great to have power so the A/C can cool you off between yard work.

I have a friend in Houston and talked to him yesterday but have not been able to get him today I'm sure he is OK. He said he stocked up on everything too hold him over for a few days.

On the bright side... my trees & plants won't need trimmin' for *quite* a while now!!!

I hope the electric company doesn't shut your power down while they make repairs to the rest of the grid. They had to do that here after the last hurricane that hit.

There'd b 1 *very* mad rat rodder! Tonite our house was party central as most of our friends still don't have power so several couples are spending the nite & others just came to soak some A/C or shower B4 heading back to their place. Can't believe our good fortune to have had elec through out.

what fun!!! Still have power but have lost cable & Internet. Am ck'n n by cell fone! Looks like quite a few folks were killed down on the coast but they won't say yet but destruction was total! Time will tell. Luckily I filled all my cars up & have plenty of gas. Later..

This is the first time I have been able to log on, you (& statesmen) have been in my thoughts since I heard about Ike.

Glad (nope make that VERY glad) to read that you and your family are ok.

This is one of those rare occasions I'm glad I'm in the UK...we don't have huricanes (except WW2 fighter planes) or tornados (hm an other fighter plane) just lots of rain!
