SS If you have ever seen the Ron Covell video on chopping and sectioning, he cuts the center out of the roof and fills it as you would on a 30s veh. His comment was it keeps the welding out of the center and closer to the edge where it could be planished easier. Remember every cut line is two weld seams. May want to see if another skin could be sourced, if you measure the total weld lengths I am sure the perimeter method would be less welding, Less warpage. What you have done looks great just wanted to throw it out there.

That's how i've done it for some time. Works well, give the top the right shape.
Did you use the skin from the same model vehicle or something different?
Don worry bout it....won't be nuttin but a blur at 60 mph...
