Gettin' kinda crowded in here, brought the chassis in for the winter. Once it's plumbed, brake cables, battery cables, etc., and the body is wet sanded and buffed they can be united.

Thats definitely an issue, especially on this base because of the pearl in it - I did sand out a couple runs in inconspicuous areas and spot sprayed them, seems to be OK but for the most part you have to live with what you lay down or respray panels.
What I really need is some adult supervision, someone who knows proper painting technique, setup, equipment and problem solving.
You know, teach an old dog new tricks....:D

The colours I'm planning on are solid, no pearl/metallic. That should hopefully make it easier. I guess I'll practice on some other panels first haha.

So, looking at the body a couple days ago I realized I forgot to make the access hole in the floor for access to the master cylinder - brain fart!! Cut a hole and whipped up a cover plate...

ZZ has a large portfolio of excellent builds on the road. Nice to see one in print.

Burple! Uncommon color and that is refreshing. My son had a flat purple VW bug that didn't look like anything else on the road.

After months of bodywork, it's nice to finally get to making things shiny! Finished wet sanding the clear today, started buffing the trunk first - it had wicked orange peel, didn't think I'd be able to take it down to smooth without a respray, but lo and behold, it aint half bad....:) Got the first grade of cut done on the body, too dark in my shop to get a good look at the Barney Purple tho..

Like a squirrel stashing nuts, I moved all the newly shiny pieces into the basement to keep them out of harms way while I work on other stuff. Sun actually came out today so I got a couple outdoor pics...
