OK.. I had to work 14 hours at my real job on Sat, and only got 2 hours in yesterday, so not too much done..

I removed all the trim and liners form inside the cab, removed the seat pan, trial fit some bucket seats I had out of a 68 Mustang, and then started removing the floor, so that I could start building a substructure for a new floor.
(I have some 1x1 and some 1x3 that should be here today for that :D )

OH.. you can see I also painted the frame in the front and rear... I'll finish painting under the cab once the floor is out and the welding is done..

OK...
This weeks progress....

Yesterday I got the floor cut out of the truck and started framing up a new floor..
I also got my body mount ears (2x3 1/4" wall C-Channel) welded to the frame..
(body will have rubber body mounts like a real car)
I can not make the front section untill I have the transmission, so I ren it straight across
for now, so I could sit the cab on the frame..

Today I started on a bed for it... This is not the finished product.. going to add some top rails to it,
and some other parts.. May also add some side skirts to hide the suspension..

Anyway.. here's the trial fit of the bed..

Oooooooooooooh, you're making me want to start working on my '39 Dodge truck again. :D I was gonna cool my jets until after New Years, but yours is looking so good I might start sooner. :D

I really don't have all that much more to do.

Ata' Boy Don,,,,Like your thinking,,,,,:D

That bed is COOL ! Looks like a little dump truck.

Good work Blue. I like your idea of adding some skirts to the bottom of the bed sides too.

Ya, I'm going to add them later for sure...

OK... If the engine is here this weekend I'll start on that next week..
if not I think I'm going to start on the chop..

Here's a quick photoshop of a 3" chop
(I put refrence marks on the truck, so the photoshop should be accurate)

and a quick 5"

The heavier the chop the more disproportionate it seems on that particular truck, the part that looks odd is where the cowl is protruding out there like a woman with a pushup bra...LOL

Maybe I'm just not putting it all together visually how it will all come together

Well, here is a five inch chop (three in the front because we slanted the posts back) The profile is fine, I think the photoshop just distorts it somewhat.

would adding a little bit of metal in the lower cowl area help the profile any? kind of cover up the "fenders go here" look.

things are really looking good blue!
I like the 5'' chop too [but i 'm parchal to 6'' chop's] ,try to take pic's of the chop as you go !seems like every one has a differant method and i love to see progress shots!!!!!
How the heck are you guys doing those photo chops ? I used to cut pic's up as a kid but that photo chop stuff is cool!

OK..

Had about an hour and 45 min to work on the truck today, so I dove into chopping the top.. Back is lined up great, and tacked in place.. I'll work on the front next week

Chop looks great Blue. I hope you can still pop that roof back out. I wished I would have fixed my roof 1st, it screwed up the alignment of the doors after the chop, when I knocked my roof dent out.
I really like the look of that back window. The whole thing looks great.

I like it too. These take on a whole new look when chopped.

I just realized when I looked at the picture below that I lied about mine being chopped 5 inches. We only chopped it about 3. Man, old age is a bummer.:confused:.
