Plan B is a narrower rear axle.

I had a toyota pickup axle re-drilled to 5x120. This rear axle is supposedly 1.5" narrower per side, it looks like more than 3 inches narrower overall......57" vs 60"?

Oh yeah, there is no suspension in these pics. Just an axle under the frame.....and it rolls.

The previous mock up was way to narrow and low to actually work. I found some 1" wheel spacers on craigslist and blocked the car up about 5". I think this will work.

Still unsure about airbags. It is tempting, but I want 100% dependability too.

Dependability, 90% of big rigs on the road are riding on air bags. Just have to make sure to use a good sealant on all your fittings. I prefer loctite teflon in a tube.

Glen, what brand air bags do you use? Where is the best place to buy them?

So far the only bags I have bought have come from Chassis Tech/ Airbagit. The one I installed in the 29 Essex ran with out a problem for the 6000 miles I put on it and last time I spoke to the new owner he has had no problem s with them after 3-4000 more miles. I used 2600lb bags all around on the Essex and I'm using 3200 on the front of the Dodge and 2600 on the rear. Most problems with leaks come from buying cheap fittings.Chassis tech is currently running there buy 2 get 2 deal https://www.airbagit.com/product-p/bag-free-3.htm

I ordered a triangulated 4 link today from Jegs. It seemed like the best bang for the buck. I bought one for a 32-34 ford because of the price and because it should be a proven design.

Now to decide on if I do bags or coil springs.

Info on the kit. It looks a whole lot like every other 4 link kit out there. $268 seem like a good deal if it is any good.
