Anybody know what I'm talking about? I looked at a dually today with super low miles but it's a bit beat up. The passenger bed side has two big cracks in it. Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it properly?

Thanks

Depends on what it is but I'm guessing RIM (reaction injected molding). It can be welded. The best welding rod is to cut a sliver off the bottom of the same fender or find a trashed one to cut it from.
So many ranchers and contractors get flatbeds here that they haul those brand new dually beds to the crusher by the trailer loads.

Couple of ways to fix cracks in those fenders... 3M co. makes a 2 part epoxy system for repairing you need a special caulking gun (pushes both tubes at same time) .....special rod for welding with a heat gun on steroids ...also a plastic welder big $$$ unit . A few body shops around here have them ..you'd probably be money a head to ask a body shop how much $$ to weld them and you finish if you want it looking good. Or you could use either 3m co structural adhesive or grind the backside & use fiberglass matt and resin maybe you'd get by.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I've talked myself out of buying this truck guys. It's gonna cost me $1700 just to fix the front end issues. It's a decent truck but I can't see spending $17k on a truck that needs work.

My search continues..
