My brain hurts

OK here's the latest. Getting this part started has given me the confidence that this thing might workout after all [S
Getting the bed chop started, I spend a lot of time looking and thinking [P
Until i cut off the tail light section i did'nt realize, like the roof, it changes size in multipal directions. Meaning lots of cutting into small pieces and welding them back to gether [;) It's about lining up curves and lines
One good thing with this much welding Em's getting good [cl
Oh ya another thing i did'nt think of, the tail gate needs to be some what wider:(
So what do you think [S

Looks good enough for the girls I go with.
I think your daughter has got the right stuff.
You're a lucky man, enjoy your time together.

Widen the tailgate or stretch the sides inward. I'd be inclined to leave the gate alone and keep working the tails.

Neverdone, thanks. I'm working as fast as I can, sort of. today it seemed more like I was a blacksmith instead of a fabricator but it's coming [S
When the body and chassis come back together i'll feel like i'm making progress.

The latest

Left side top rail sectioned and welded back in. End of bed sitting in place and clamped. Floor fitted and welded some.
Before this is over I'll have to count how many pieces we welded back together [S
I'm still on my first 10# spool of wire[;)

Still More

OK, I think the bed is done [S Should be the only EC with a 60" bed. Some where along the line it must have been a painter's truck, 6 layers of paint and crap on the bed floor.

Hoping to get the body and chassis re-acquainted next week [;)

Till then see you on the radio [cl

Neverdone, no cover for now. I don't like what I've seen for this model. I'm not putting any trim back on, will have to see how the top rail comes out. May need something, the gas and air tanks are going I the back in the front hole[S

That's some dang fine work you and you're daughter are doing. You have much more patience then I that's for sure lol. You'll have a mighty fine looking Elky when you're done.

And the soga continues

OK, cab and bed floors done. Now to lower it down on the frame while aligning the bolt holes. Chained between seat belt attachments and rigged the engine hoist to lift from the inside. Almost balanced[cl

See when I do
