While the wife is out door boating. I'm indoor boating.[ddd
Installed the 2 support planks on either side of the keel. Bedded and screwed in. All coated with 2 coats of CPES.
On to the chines tonight as the weather is currently perfect for laminating.

Chine work.
The new chines will be made of 3 pieces of lumber laminated together.
Since this piece goes from narrow to wide to narrow again the outside piece only goes back partway.
Once laminated I will feather this outer piece to match the width of the old one.

Perfect weather for laminating.
2 of the 3 new chine layers glued and clamped. I will add the 3 layer after this sets up as boards this long with epoxy on them are really slippery and hard to hold in place while clamping.

[P

I check here every day. Nice work.

My older brother used to do this from time to time when I was a kid.

When seen first hand, you appreciate how much work this is.

Thanks guys.:)
Finished laminating the PS chine this afternoon.
Once cured I will start to reshape both sides.

Unclamped the PS chine this morning. Pulled out the palstic sheeting and clamped it back on with a few clamps.
It will sit this way until after thanksgiving.

Been a while.......

Back on the boat....FINALLY.
Trimmed the intermediate frames. They are ready to be steam bent.
Did a scarf joint for the final chine piece on the SB side.
This will get laminated to the existing 2 ply's making the chine 3 ply's it's entire length.
Next up is to rip another long piece to finish up the PS chine. More scarfing and laminating there as well.
That's all for now.....
