I envy your patience sir.[cl
It looks really nice, but then I don't know what I'm looking at except the bottom of a boat. [P

Her's a link to the low down on the different types of scarf joints. I just did the basic one in the upper left hand corner.
The piece that I am working on is the "Chine". It's the piece that runs from the bow to the stern and is the bottom outside edge of the boat bottom.

Your a true craftsman Torchie, I'm starting to see a pattern here, don't know if it's cravings or addictions. For a while you can't get enough wood dust, then that goes away and you can't get enough welding and grinding dust, then back to the wood.:D:D;);)

I rubbed a lamp and wished a heated, insulated shop for you, Torchie...

.

Thanks Gang. Feels good to be sort of back at it.:)
Thanks Doc. Funny you should mention a heated shop. I stopped by one of the local boat restorers yesterday to see about swapping some chrome parts. His helper was mortified when he found out I didn't have a heated shop. I told him that's what long under ware is for.[ddd

More scarfing.
This board is for the port side Chine.
Hoping to laminate tomorrow based on predicted temps.

Slow going as we have been dealing with Elder care issues for the past week.
Both PS and SB side chines are laminated now.
Next step is to start shaping them
If you look closely at the pics you can see how the chines stick up above the level of the frames. This needs to be trimmed off.

great work man... You`re getting to the point where it actually looks like an upside-down-boat-with-no-underside... [cl:D[P

Yep dutch.
Stick by stick. Forward we go.
Pulled the old chines out of the wood loft. I will use these as patterns when reshaping the new ones.
The last pics shows how many fasteners go in to this piece. Extrapolate that area to one that is 18' long.
