I'm going to concentrate on the PS for now. As I need a couple of things to finish shaping the SB side new chine.

Opened it back up after marking all the frames for a little bit more fairing.
My scribbles denote what needs what.
Once I finish the final fairing on some of the frames I will do the final install of the new PS chine. Then its on to the next step.
I also included some pics of the original inner ply and canvas as well as some of the hundreds??? of screw that were installed from inside the boat. These screws went through the inner ply- canvas and bedding compound into the outer planks. Can anyone say labour intensive.[ddd:p
Keeping at it....

Finished up the little bit of fairing needed. The H's are now all Checked off and the planks lay well.
Tomorrow the plan is to drill the bolt holes through the frames and the new chines. Remove the new chine and give it 2 coats of CPES.

Pulled the chine and gave it 2 coats of snake oil. (CPES. ).
Once it's fully cured I will do the final install. Maybe tomorrow.

Ah that would be the right way, yes[S

[cl[P[cl

The slow way. soltz.:eek::D
That's the difference between me and some one that does this for a living, 6-7 days a week. That and much better quality tools.
They may handle a board 4 times I handle it about 7-8. Way too many times off and on for fitment.
I'm working at getting better at that. I used to be but now....Not so much.
Keep on keeping on....

Torchie, you've hit on something that we all do without thinking about it. We all put each part on our project, many times due to slight fitment problems that we have to overcome. So we don't just assemble a car, we have to make everything fit and work together with the other pieces, so we actually assemble the project a lot of times. No-one appreciates all of that work. So;
Keep up the good work, Torchie.

Thanks for all the comments Gang. I appreciate them.
A mile stone (or should I say a millstone.[ddd) of sorts today.
Frame work on the Port side is completed.
I did the final install on the new chine.
Bedded with 3M 5200 and fastened with all new silicone bronze screws and bolts.
Just the proper amount of "Splooge".:D
You have to use Laquer thinner or Xyletol to clean up the 5200. It sticks to everything and anything.[ddd :p
I used white 5200 as it was what I had on hand. It does take paint so when we are done planking the sides and spray the interior of the hull you won't see it.
I will use Mahogany colored for the bottom planks.
To do all this by myself took one tube of 5200 and 4 hours of time.
I could have used some help wrangling that long, heavy chine piece into place but managed it.
If I can walk tomorrow I will start on the inner plywood step.....[ddd
Thanks for stopping by.
Keep on keeping on....

That Torchie Cam idea is a beauty - we could all use the motivation these days! Although I'm afraid I'd feel inadequate just watching your ambition...

Cool, you might have to set up a Torchie Cam so we can keep an eye on you.;)

That idea is way too scary to even contemplate. Talk about "American Horror story." [ddd
33 and snow here yesterday and today, so no shop time.
53 and sunny tomorrow so back at it.

Pic heavy 2 part post.

Here is where I am now.
Pics tell the story. I had to include a "yardstick" shot for Dr Crank.:D
The vertical seams fall center on the frames. For this point to the bow It will be 6 inch strips set on the angel to allow for the curves of the bow area.
The pencil long pencil lines denote the main and auxililary frame locations. The shorter ones show where the "Floating" indermediate frames will go.
Thanks for checking up on me......
