    Pitman Arm length

Old Iron - Roadster modified or RPU. I'll have the option when the time comes. OffRoadRolls - I'll give it try. Dr Cranks - I was thinking the same thing but thought there might be more to it. Sometimes I think I'm reinventing the wheel.

Considering making my own pitman arm but need to know how to determine its length? What do I need to consider? Any direction would help.

    4-Bar set-up question

Annamel, thanks for the clarification on pinion angle. If my transverse spring is set up correctly would I still need a panhard bar?

    4-Bar set-up question

I've been searching other threads on rear 4-bar set-ups but really couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm planning on using short links that I can adjust from 12"-14" eye to eye so I can tuck the rear axle in closer to the body. I'll be using a transverse spring. My frame rails are 29" wide...

    Wire wheel question

I have a set of 17" and 19" Ford wire wheels I would like to use. The 17's look pretty solid with straight spokes with the exception for 3 bent spokes. The 19's have a few more bent spokes but hardly noticeable. There is one broken spoke on one the 19's. Are these still useable? Can they be...

    Rear radius rod question.

Thats correct. These are the radius rods I have in the pic. They are 7/8" OD and tapped for 5/8" rod ends. I was thinking of welding a steel plate between the bars. Should it be connected near midpoint? Could they just be gusseted where the bars come together?

    Rear radius rod question.

I have a pair of front radius rods i wanna use in back. Would it be necessary to brace the upper and lower bars together if I was to use them in the rear suspension?

    Is this angle ok?

OK found the perches. Thanks everyone!

    Is this angle ok?

Ok, does Speedway offer up the angled spring perches?

    Is this angle ok?

Is the angle of the batwings too excessive for the the spring pivot? The shackle plates are slightly fanned which seems to help reduce stress. Or am I just be fooling myself.

    Would this work?

I'm not questioning anything thats been said previously. All makes sense and I'm trying to learn everything. So in a rear 4-bar set up it wouldn't be ideal but when using hairpins it's ok? Is this because the way the axle moves, arching vs. straight up and down? I'm just trying to get my head...

    Would this work?

I had some extra parts hanging around from previous projects. Started to piece some things together and came up with this 4-bar set-up. I have never seen it done this way(Clevis's) and was wondering if it would work? Looking for some opinions good or bad, pros and cons.

    Clevis to Heim?

Ahhh....yah, safety washer! Looks like I have about 5/16th" material left after opening up the hole. Is there a minimum web thickness?

    Clevis to Heim?

Blurooster, I guess Im getting old and scared also or I wouldn't have had any doubts in the first place. What would the difference be when mounting to one of those radius rod brackets attached to the frame?

    Clevis to Heim?

I'm wanting to switch my rear radius rods with clevis's for a 4-bar set-up and retain the single mounting bracket on the axle. My question is, could I bolt up a heim to one side of the existing bracket without fear of failure or shearing to the bracket? The other end of the bar will be mounted...
