Gene's comment reminds me of a fellow called Tiny (this board?) who wanted suicide doors on his bobber truck build. His wife didn't like the idea. So when it was done his drivers door was suicide and his wifes side was not.

Thanks for the many responses, guys. I like them both. As I resume building late this fall, maybe the truck will decide. Or, I could have a set of each and swap them among my hot rods.

That's killer being able to have that option. The bolt pattern on my '58 and '30 are the same but wheels/tires totally different.

Back working on the Dodge. I can't get pictures to download to my computer so I won't be posting much until I get that solved. I am working on it though. Built body mounts that tilt the cab forward 2". Now mounting the box sides. I bought a cafe booth with nice upholstery for 50 bucks. Will make a seat for the truck out of it.
e-man, I remember Tiny.

This is an attempt to post pics directly from my phone. Here's the booth I am going to try to make a seat for the truck out of.

Metal is metal. What it was originally used for doesn't make much difference. As long as it is a good gauge thickness to do the job, and can be cleaned up enough to weld to, its all good.
Those old cabinet doors were probably baked enamel, they are going to be around for a long time.

Now using the shelves to make the transmission cover. It is removable. Framed with 1/8 by 1 strap with 1/8 rod establishing the flat panels. Only the hard part remains.

Here's a shot of the box side. It's not that simple though. See the end shot. There's inner and outer sheet metal with wood sandwiched in the vertical area and wood backed up with sheet metal in the top angles. I can't find any pics of this construction on the internet. Pretty cool though.

Funeral services for my grandson yesterday. So sad.
Sorry for your loss Sir, thoughts and prayers
