Sending good vibes to you and yours CC.
Hope you can find the time to work on the Chevy as it will be a great way for you to focus on other things and recharge.
Torchie.

Lookin' good, CC. At least you're working the bugs out of it. Stuff happens. You can blame the engineer. I'm happy mine is having problems running around town. Maybe, when it gets out on the road, it will be done falling apart and crappin out. Prayers out to your folks. My Dad had prostate cancer way back in '93-'94 and with the technology back then, they got him fixed up. He's 91 now and grouchy as ever. Things always turn out just like they're supposed to. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about you Mom. I hope she doing better now.

What radiator did you get? I might be needing one for my '51 Bel Air down the road.

Thanks Everybody!

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!

mom is doing better, to my surprise she was up and walking around yesterday when I dropped by to check up on her. :D God is such an awesome miracle worker!

To answer your question Iron Rat... I ordered one from radiator classics, since funds are tight right now I did a 2 row aluminum with plastic tanks. It ran me about $65. The Chevy is sitting on a caprice chassis, initially I was running the caprice radiator, but I went with something a bit more narrow. I'm not sure what the stock size is for the original 49-53 Chevy's.

I used radiator classic for my 64 C-10 I think I paid about $90 for my 1 Row ( the row depth is 1-1/2" so it's the equivalent of a 3 row or three core) it's all aluminum and it made a huge difference over my 3 core copper/brass original and it was about a 1/3 of the price compared to some other companies. PLUS they offer a lifetime warranty.... so it was a no brainier for me, especially on a low budget build.

I just looked at radiator size and configuration for my needs, as some just have core size/tank size respectively. i think I had to make a bracket or two for my truck, but it worked well and I picked up an aluminum fan shroud from 'welder joe' on e-bay, which is actually a discount seller for Johnny Law Motors....

CC, no on the four link. Stock Chevelle, single drag link and upper stabilizers works just fine. [S

hhahahahahaa..... that's what I meant to say:eek:, I just didn't do research for the proper terminology, did you ever get any pics of the mounts you did for your rear bags? [S

The caprice rear end set up is I'm about 90% sure the same as the Elky you have been wrenching on....

CC All i did for the rears was shorten the bag mount collars so when their empty the suspension sets on the down stops, then they set right in where the coil spring went. I don't have any pix with the bags in place but can take some if you need them.
By the way i really like your build, i've always like the year chevy, i had a 52 fast back, one of those way did i every sell it, answer: i was 17:eek: and the late model chassis works great.
Let me know if you need any thing else.

If you could get some pictures that would be GREAT! no huge rush, I probably won't get to bagging until the spring, but one never knows :)[cl

I got around to yanking the old radiator and putting the new one in

I like it [cl[cl
did you do that to the radiator [S also did you get the airbag thing figured out[S

Thanks!

The radiator was collateral damage from the 1st car show I took the 50 to.... I hit a large dip, which dropped cause the front clip to drop a little bit, which when the flex fan was flexed, it cause the radiator.... initially just one fin, but by the time i got back to the garage, three of the 6 blades were gone and the radiator looked like what you see...:D I also broke a muffler loose flying up the gravel driveway:D then folded the pipe that runs over the rear end in half when I backed it up because I overshot the pit [cl I was having a ball;) Honestly one of the most fun days I had destroying stuff on accident... it was all cheap stuff that I was going to replace at one point LOL...

I haven'y figued out what I'm going to do with the bags quite yet, I cam across a set of brand new universal air... bags that are brand new... i think the are 2" bnke and 8" extended, so i'm not sure if they will work... [S

I liked the way it looked with the fenders off and the hood on. You should have left it that way because that's the way a Rat Rod is supposed to look.....:D

Good for you on the sheet metal alignment CC. Even when stock these baby's can be a PITA to get set up correctly.[cl
Torchie.

I wonder what's in store for this weekend????[S

Lookin' Great Brother!!! Watchin'...[P

Thanks!

How many Vetts you got sittin around anyway??????????????

A few.... lol:D it's my dad's obsession...lol

............................................................................................

Nothing done over the weekend, but thanksgiving weekend is looking promising![cl

Fun fun

:D

I got the front end about 85% secure and 90% straight..... that's perfect for a Rat right??? LOL

Made some brackets and a stabilizer bar....

Also did a little cruising :D I love the pull of that 327 [cl
