Haven’t gotten to work on her car lately as I’ve been focusing on getting my engine finished up. Windshield frame is now chopped though, just need to clean up the welds on the right hand side. Then I can move onto the doors but it’s going to go on the back burner again. I want to finish up my engine, then do a bit of surgery on the 31, and then I’ll be back to working on her car. I don’t remeber if I said it before but this car is going to be a long process just because of all the other projects I have going at the moment.

Been talking with the woman on the direction of her car but so far, that’s all it has been. There are new plans in the works but I’ve got to get other things done(the 31) before I can start tackling it. We are going to be going with a wild west theme. I have a whole mess of empty 38special casings that are going to be used on her car. The plans are for the pedals to look like revolver cylinders, the steering wheel is going to have 38special casing around the ring, horn button is going to match the pedals, shifter will be an old broken revolver, and the emergency brake will be a broken lever action mares leg rifle. I want the seat belts to look like a bandolier. I’m thinking for the seat, cutting down the back seat from the 76 f250 parts wagon and wrapping it in a mexican blanket. As for knobs for the headlights and what not, I am thinking of using .22lr shells and making them look like revolver cylinders also. All of this will come in time as for now, it’s just ideas in my head.

Got back to working on her car this afternoon. Don’t feel like I accomplished much in 3 hours but these things take time. Made a patch panel for what was missing from cutting out the old wheel wells in the 4 door. Tomorrow I will get it welded the rest of the way in and then start in on the other side.

Got the drivers side door chopped and fitted to the opening. Tomorrow, depending on how I feel, I will start on the passenger side door. The passengers door will be a bit more complicated as I will have to graft the rear doors that came with the body into one door. I am thinking that I will take the one passengers side, cut it at the halfway point on the bottom, then come up as high as the wheel arch. Then using the front side of the other door, cut out enough to fill in the missing bits. I will try to take as many pictures of that process as I can. Once the doors are finished, I will need to come up with hinges and latches.

Started work on the passengers door this afternoon. Started by removing the inner door structure which took some time as it was rivetted and spot welded. After I got the inner structure removed I took it outside and knocked the dirt out of it. Brought it back inside and flipped it over. Marked out the area that needed cut and proceeded to cut everything. I then sat that door aside and grabbed the other and did the same thing with it. Matched up the cut piece from the donor door and welded it together. I will do a similar process on the inner door structure. Tomorrow, I will combine the 2 inside pieces and reattach it to the door. Once I have all that back together I will skin the lower section of the door. I will beed to cut it across the rest of the way first as the metal is not solid enough on the lower edge to weld.
