COE on a Motorhome Chasis

A guy dropped by the shop today and was showing me some pics of a COE he built--real long chasis--like a two car hauler, and he kept saying "motorhome" . It took a while to sink in but finally I got it. They are perfect for a COE car hauler donor. Usually low milage and pretty heavily built, with a long flat chasis and a front steering box, and can often be had really cheep.

I'm sure it's been done before, just news to me, and I thought I'd pass it on.

He was a non digital kinda guy though, so sorry no pix, just have to visualize it in your head.

Nice guy--worked on my Binks sprayer for an hour--Didn't fix it, but was entertaining..

You can't hardly give away those old class A motorhomes anymore so finding a decent running one with good tires for under a grand shouldn't be too hard.
I was at the Ckikasha swap meet a couple years ago and a guy had a good running 454 motorhome he had driven there, asking $1000 and right around the corner was a really nice 51 Chevy COE cab for $500. Neither of them sold

The guy was a pretty creative codger, He used the seats and leather upholstery to do the interior of the COE.. Pretty slick for cheep.

I could almost sell my trailer and get enough to build one. All my neighbors would be dissappointed though--That trailer is on the road constantly, what would they do? ..

Borrow my COE...

My coe

Just bought a 55 Ford C600 from a junkyard. Gonna put mine on an E150 chassis....floorpan, cowl, etc. I'm gonna build a short flatbed and just haul air. lol. Don't need a hauler, and besides, they are too difficult to park.
