thanks for the comments guys.....

Gastrick, does a guy really hafta have the wheels to start buildin the car....:D
ya know we're waiting patiently....[dr

Maybe the wheels "fell off" the project and he lost interest?

Ok, that was a lame joke![cl

I have not been on here much lately. It is wheeling season right now, through Thanksgiving. Been out wheeling hard the last two weekends. Two weeks ago I put it on it's lid, driver error. Rolled it back and ran the rest of the day, and the next weekend. This weekend we have our "Partners Run" where we take out kids and run a jeep trial. Working on the buggy a little when I can.

Sounds like you're having a fun filled summer. Do you just get a bunch of guys to turn your crawler right side up?

So i'm looking at this picture thinking is this the same Jeff with the back problems a while ago?:) And you took responsability for the upsidedownidness yourself! From the looks of the picture i think you could have easily blamed it on terrorists. :D

It was a real easy rollover, and I was strapped in with a 4 point harness in suspension seats. The back is healed up pretty good now. We all have winches on our rigs, and they generally roll back over pretty easy. There is a small picture of my rig in Crawl Magazine this month by the way.

Ha ha. You comedians are killing me. Actually it's just an old habit. I always start with the actual (or exact same size) wheels and tires that I'm going to use when I start a project. That way the chassis and suspension can be built as planned from the beginning.

Oh and by the way.....I just scored all four of these :D

another trip to dr. today....maybe get a cast today or appointment for sugery:confused:

the dr. better not want any more money-he got all of that tuesday!

(no insurance really has its drawbacks sometimes....:( )

Slow n' easy....nuthin' to worry about. Fishin' rod in the back seat.
I think i get the picture [cl

Slow and easy that's it although I do have some "go fast" goodies in there. I figured I already have my coupe with the hemi, and even though I have another complete 392 Chrysler, I thought I would have a little fun playing with a flathead. I wanted to build one like my dad would have in his youth. Both me and him are pretty excited about it. My dad says that no matter how healthy an engine sounds, his favorite is still the sound of and old flathead. Even though this is my car, I want my dad to drive it and relive his younger days a little bit while he is still healthy enough to do so.

I read something funny; Henry Ford invented a machine that would boil water and later discover he could power his automobiles with it.:D. I guess the saying is true - It's the most money you'll ever spend to go slow. H&H in California has my engine right now. Based on their reputation, I trust they will ship me a nice piece. I sent them all of my "speed goodies" to put in/on the engine.

that sounds like a good thing to do gastrick--my hat's off to you on making some "new old" memories for your dad

as far as that flathead story is concerned... it took a second to "get it"...never heard the boiling water part...[cl:D:D

i'm sure you'll be anticipating getting that engine back, [dr

So i found a '31 Chrysler 4door yesterday. Stuck in a barn since 1950 or so. The guy doesnt want any money for it, his father bought it as a parts car and just stashed it away. Out of site, out of mind.

Unfortunatly, thats how the son feels now. He wont let me take it out. He said "its not worth all the work to get it out" See, when he opened the door of the barn junk litterally fell out. Then he pointed to a corner where the car sits. I couldnt see it. It would take a 3 man crew a full day to extract it. When i told him i was willing to do it he pretty much blew me off.

"not worth the effort..."
