i use a piece of copper plumbing pipe and flatten on end and the bend the remaining tube up, it give you a handle, works great.

you can do it single stage with matting paste or base clear with a matt clear.

no you have to remove the box to get them off, the box comes off with 4 bolts and some band clamps on the exhaust.
