Looks like the tranny gears are kind of mated with the motor with just a transmittion cover not really a seperate tranny according to these blowup picks at this site......

Looks like the back of the block is also the front of the transmission, typical Japanese space/cost saving.
Here is the back of the motor, on a twin engine race bike.

Looks like the back of the block is also the front of the transmission...

So you would have to slice the back of the CX block,
to create the front of the trans, or machine up a separate piece.

The "airhead" trans looks simpler, older; should be easier to work with.
Maybe you want kick start, don't know if there was a kick/electric combo. New stuff is electric only.

BMW clutch would be easiest, find a pic of the
flywheel to see how it attaches to the crank.

Coupling the flywheel to the crank will be a challenge.

"Airhead" flywheel attaches to the crank with 5 bolts.
Would be nice to get a matching trans, clutch and flywheel, as a set.

Cook customs rambler shure looks like Billy lanes henderson build both nice but I just want something like a simple bobber style....looks like lane just built a tin shroud around the clutch set up.Cook did a nicer exhaust set up...
