1918 Dodge Bros Roadster

Got the front suspension finished up. Moved into the radiator support and grill. Decided to ditch the dodge brothers grill shell in favor of a mid 30s Chevrolet shell. The widows peak really makes it look a lot meaner. I’ll have to do some filler stuff with it but it’ll look right at home on the front of this rod. Next up is headlight brackets and shocks.

Got my shock mounts built today. Tomorrow I’ll work on the headlight brackets.

More work don’t today. Headlights are mounted along with the grill shell. In order to make the shell a bit more “ratty” I decided to weld some barbed wire to it. I’ll have to dig out one of my other rolls of wire and finish it up tomorrow.

I’m still alive and kicking guys and the roadster is still getting built just waiting on my control arm bushings still. I’ll have to email the company again and see what’s going on. In between times, I decided to pull Coppertone back into the shop to work out all her little issues. Pulled the driveshaft and dropped it off at the machine shop today. Tomorrow I’m gonna rework the motor mounts so that the engine sits level. Then she’ll be going up for sale. As much as I hate the idea of selling her, I just don’t have room and looking towards the future, there’s gonna be a big move ahead of me. But bear with me as I take one step at a time.

Parts came in last week but I had plans to spend the weekend with my fiancé and her kids at Mount Rushmore so I didn’t get anytime last week on the roadster. Got out to the shop yesterday to start on the rear suspension but I screwed the pooch on that so I had to start over. Got things put together this afternoon and it’s gonna work out well. Tomorrow’s plan is to make the brackets and get everything put together.

Got the rear suspension all attached. I think I’m gonna run coil overs to keep it simple. I’ll need to finish up the lower link brackets but it’s all attached so it’s a move in the right direction.

Been a while since I posted last. Been busy getting things put together. Anyway, got the coil overs in and installed, ran the brake and fuel lines, and got the transmission cooler lines installed. Mounted the fan and the transmission cooler. I also got the body mounted, master cylinder bracket built, pedal mounted, and the steering figured out. Yesterday I decided on how I’m going to build and mount the fuel tank so keep an eye out for that. I’ve been having problems trying to load pictures on here so I’ll get them loaded as soon as I can.

I went with AFCO street rod coil overs and chose 200lb springs.

Been working on the fuel tank the last few days. All 16ga steel. Still need to do some finishing touches and work on the mounting brackets but it’s coming together.
