Just looking at your build.......

Couple side notes from the peanut gallery.

1.) I originally built my front bag setup the way that you did. I ended up I cut it back off and rebuilt it as a cantilever. Reason being is the ammount of stress being put in the center of the axle and because of the ammount of body roll you will end up with since your suspension is so close to the middle. With the suspension that close to the middle you should run a sway bar if you leave it that way.

2.) Panhard can be mounted to the frame on either side. If you are running a panhard front and rear make sure you mount to the frame the same side front and rear.

brackets for rear bags

Started on brackets for rear bags.
Got the top ones cut out, and after a slight mod, bent gussets,
welded up relief cuts.
Clamped them in place.
then I set myself on fire and decided I would try again tomorrow.
I hate it when that happens. And it always happens when I get
tired and start hurting.
Another hoodie sweat shirt trashed.

heck, half the fun of building these things is hurting yourself or setting something on fire[ddd

l bet none of us could count the number of times we have probably done something like this.

carry on, truck is looking good[cl

Later

Skull,
I hear you! It just seems like the older I get, the less I find enjoyment in
the pain associated with success.

Thanks for the kudos on the truck.

rear bag brackets

More work on rear bag brackets.
Trying to space bags as far apart as possible
to reduce body roll as much as I can.

sounds like a smart idea....could see it leaning a tad if they were too close...nice work by the way.....

Thanks Sgt,

How's the knee doing? Mine is progressing and feeling pretty good.
Stiff and annoying when trying to work on the dodge but I guess
That's to be expected when they saw your leg off and put in a new u-joint.

We need to have a sub-group here on RRR
THE OLD AND THE GIMPY!!!

Your build is looking great! Hope knee is doing alright. My Dad just had his knee done a month ago. Took a bit to heal up but is working better than new now. Hang in there, it will be better soon I am sure.

Thanks for asking....mine is also stiff and annoying...

At least my knee is...LOL... notice if I sit too much it stiffens up....If I'm on it too much it feels swollen....it's slowly getting less aggrevating....maybe I'm just getting used to it......I keep an ice bag in the freezer for those times it aches more than others.... can't imagine what might show up on the "OLD and GIMPY" posts....lol

Looks like its coming together nicely there!

DirtyRat,

Progress is hard to see sometimes when you can only
do 2 or 3 hrs at a time.
I'm way too hard headed to not finish this thing especially
when all my grand kids keep asking when they can ride the rat.

Hard at it. Good help is hard to find.
No way to match patina on cab. So I guess I'll paint the nose.
