Ya thats the plan. I went to Tractor supply and they were having a sale on their Hobart Machines. I was planning on getting the one with the gas attachment. And from everyone i have heard no on the flux core. I used one of the larger Hobarts today and was amazed how easy it was.

What I did over the weekend

Well since I am waiting on parts still I decided to dig out some of the wood that I had laying around and figure out my bed. I knew I wanted to build a stake style flatbed with removable sides. Well I got the bed part finished and have to find the stake brackets next. I also am not too sure how I want to mount my tank battery box, and air tank. All three will be sitting in the bed I think. I took a few pictures so you guys could see what Im working with. any ideas??

It looks like you're heading in the right direction. Just keep the function of each piece in mind and place them where they work best...form and function.

I like the wood you have laid out, it's old yet solid.

I like the look you are headed for, and I like the battery box too.

Ya I figure Ill section the battery box that way I can carry some tools in there too!

Ya the wood I acquired from a friends house that she was tearing down. I left it outside for a while to get that weathered look.

Thanks guys for the advise!

yeah i like the battery/tool box. Maybe put it on the other side to offset the weight of the driver somewhat. Without a sway bar you might be leaning to one side, depending on how soft your suspension is.

Ya that is a pretty good idea! The suspension is pretty stout. And with as thin as I am the battery would make the perfect counter weight, lol.

Well I got the motor and trans in tonite!

Well I ordered my welder the other day from Northern Tool. I should have it next Tuesday (Hopefully)! My brother is working out a deal on a free Argon tank too. I didnt do anything to the truck last night, I needed to catch up on a few other things. But the good news is, I have my doors sitting in my livingroom. Man they are nice. Ill get some pictures up tonite.

I am still waiting on the correct front and rear brakes, and a few other things from the junkyard. Hoping to have most of it tomorrow. Im getting there!

Well i cleaned out my gas tank tonite. It holds water so that a good sign. There wasnt much rust inside so it was an easy cleanup.

Here are the doors too!
