Trunk is pretty much finished up. Ran out of 1/4” machine screws so I’ll need to get those tomorrow. Just need a few more panels and then onto the lid.

Trunk is all finished up minus the rear plate. I’ll try to tackle that over the next few days. It’ll all have to come out again when my fuel sender comes in and then it’ll be back together for good. Battery was placed there to check for spacing. Yes, that is where the battery is going to sit when all is said and done.

Slowly plugging away on it. Finally got my fuel tank sender in so pulled the trunk insert and tank out and got the sender installed. Then put the tank back in place and everything all buttoned up on the top side. Then I reinstalled the trunk liner for good. Yesterday I had made the rear most panel but it doesn’t fit exactly how I’d like it to and I feel it should curve with the lower piece of the factor model a rear end. So tomorrow I’ll build a curved piece to go there and then move onto the trunk lid.

Do you have a shrinker? That could pull the bottom edge out to where it should be. Or a few careful relief slices.

I'm cheap and would look for a way to fix the current piece. No doubt you will get it right one way or another.

I would actually need to stretch it to fill in the gaps on the edges. And that would be before even curving it outward to match the piece below the panel.

Are you putting taillights in this piece? If you are it would be much easier laying out and cutting the holes while it's on the bench. Then again I have a bad back so I try to do what I can standing up.

That's looking really nice, it's almost a shame to cover up all that nice tin work inside the trunk!

You’re right, it is a shame. But it’ll be both nice and functional with a lid. Wait until y’all see what I have in store for lid supports.
