For what it is worth.
If possible. I would strip off as much as I could prior to moving it.
Then do some quick bracing of the shell. Even with some 2x4's and clamps.
get the body shell up on something like a sheet of plywood or a pallet and strap it down When you pull. pull from attachment points on the skid. Not the body shell.JMHO
Like Bama said. These Lincolns were built entirely different then most cars.
Some of these were really "Hand Built " cars. That's one of the reasons they are so exspensive to restore. Sheet metal from one will not just bolt up to sheet metal from another with out a lot of reworking.Ford didn't come up with production dies until into the 41 production
The last dealership body shop I worked in , the owner had a 41 Convertible. Beautiful car.

So as much as I enjoy everyone’s comments on the “Stinkin Lincoln”, I’m back to work on the Essex. Finally got the trunk lid built today. Tomorrow I’ll get the other hinge, handle, and latches made. I think it turned out pretty nice.

Both hinges are built and installed. I was curious to see how the roller chain would work as a hinge and I have to say, they work flawlessly. Once I had the hinges built, it was onto the handle. Did the same thing as I did in the inside of the car but slightly larger. Used scrap 3/16” plate and 1/4” fasteners. Last thing I want is to be cruising down the road and have the handle fall off and not know it. I decided not to install latches until after I get tail lights in and installed so I know just where they need to go. So tomorrow the plan is to build the trunk lid supports. I have a vision in my head on how they need to look and hopefully they work as intended. Then, it’ll be back to the interior of the car. Need to reinstall the lower portion of the dash and make a gauge panel(all my gauges showed up last week), build a gas pedal, pedal pads, and shifter. Then it’ll be onto wiring it up... I think. That is unless I find something I forgot about.

Thanks Bama. Since my first build I have learned a lot and have gotten a lot more/better tooling than when I started. I’ve also become a certified welder through my employer in all structural positions 1/8”-Unlimited. I’d like to get my pipe certs also but being union, they only let boilermakers and pipe fitters get those certs. It also seems that with every build, my skills get more and more honed making each build better and built quicker.
 
Only got about 2hrs if sleep after work today so I didn’t get anything accomplished that I wanted to. We’ll have to see how tomorrow goes.
