This is rather like trying to come up with something different for a 32 Ford roadster, or a VW bug. What hasn't been done? What does the world expect it to look like?

A stude I saw at the blue suede cruise. Neat car.

Ls1 corvette motor complete with batwing oil pan, motor mounts and exhaust manifolds, MII front suspension, s10 4x4 rear axle, 215/65/15 tires

I just bought a set of 18 inch camaro steel wheels off of craigslist. The plan is to also buy a set of 18 inch screw on Moon Discs to use with these steel wheels. It should be fun making all of this stuff play well together.

Heck, they look a little like the wheels on this one...just paint them gold?

I'm thinking 215/45/18.

Thw wheels look pretty hotroddy when they aren't on a base model camaro.

If at first you don't succeed, cut some more.

LS truck motor stuffed in through the firewall.

I don't know what the previous butcher made room for.....nut it wasn't a chevy truck motor with a healthy set-back. I still have to cut more if I want to put exhaust manifolds on it.

Only bad thing about those LS motors are the ugly valve covers and coils on them. I've seen some where they went with a smooth valve cover and mounted the coils on the firewall that I thought looked pretty good.
I'm a Ford man, and their engines don't look any better stock. All the electronics on these modern powerplants just screws up the looks IMHO. Guess that's why they cover them up from the factory.

The fiberglass hood was riveted shut to make the front cap a lift-off unit. I'm turning the car into more of a street car.

I used to work at JHRS and worked on the black Studebaker in its beginning (left to start current teaching job)
looking good so far
and after helping set up a chassis on one of these, the stock Stude suspension sucks
this is why the profile of the black Stude from Johnsons looks different than stock
1. the top has a slight chop, the A post was cut and leaned back then the
roof was leveled to match the belt line
2. the front wheel openings were moved forward slightly
3. the lower portion of the QTR,behind the rear wheel opening, and rockers
were modified to match or set on the same plane.
3 the obvious is the handmade tucked bumpers and roll pans (look closely at
the front to see the differences between stock and the JHRS one

I love Paul's Stude. I saw it at Louisville and then again at Poteets house. I really like what you guys did....with everything.

This weekend I figured out my front crossmember is currently about 3 inches too high. I need to fix that.

On the nice stude, what did you do with the firewall body mounts? It looks like they are gonna be crowding the exhaust.

I was there during the chassis setup and planning.I helped with the initial design and layout but was not involved with anything after that. I can probably find out. The car has a custom JHRS built chassis. I believe those front mounts were removed and new mounts made with the custom firewall

I thought it was an Art Morrison chassis.
