    Rip mca

I am not sure how many (if any) of you are Beastie Boys fans, but today, MCA, aka Adam Yauch, lost his battle with cancer. I've listened to and loved the Beasties from day one and can't imagine working in my garage without their CDs driving me. Their music has been a big part of my life and...

    Chopped Willys

A friend and I spent yesterday afternoon chopping his '56 Willys. 5" out of the rear and 5 1/4" out of the front. Next the Willys will get a big block Ford engine, 2"x4" chassis, fabbed bed and more.

I thought you guys might dig a few pictures from Redding's annual car show.

    Harbor Freight Metal Shear

I'd love to have a Beverly shear, but until I can get a deal on one I thought I'd give the Harbor Freight (38413) version a try. It's on sale right now for $139.00 so WTH right? Out of the box it's typical Harbor Freight, loose as a goose and covered in oil. After a little bit of cleaning...

    The Monster Garage/Peg Sedan

I stumbled upon these pictures that I took years ago at West Coast Choppers and I thought you guys might dig 'em. This is the '29 sedan that was built on Monster Garage's New York episode. One of my favorites! RIP Peg.

    GMC Valve Cover

Up for sale is a GMC, straight six valve cover. This is off of my 1940 GMC truck and it is in very good shape with no dents or dings. The pictures don't show it too well but it does say GMC on the center. For a few bucks more I can media blast it for you. $35.00 plus shipping. Thanks!

    COE

A local guy buys and sells a lot of old cars and trucks. He has about 10 around his place at any given time; all for sale. The other day I saw him haulin' this one home and I was immediately intrigued. What do you think it was...fire truck? I like the sliding roof. Thought you guys would dig it!

Moon, SoCal Speed shop and Peterson visits

Thanks to my cousin-in-law, who knows the LA area way better than I do, we spent yesterday touring Moon Eyes, the SoCal speed shop and the Peterson Auto Museum. To say the Moon Eyes shop is oozing with hot rod history is an understatement; the SoCal speed shop had several cool builds going and...

    Small show today

Even though I've been way too busy to work on my truck for the last few weeks, I did make it to a show this morning. I got there early and the turnout was pretty slim but there was some cool stuff. Dig it!

    Dig dig dig!

I am thinking about hitting this Saturday morning. It's not too far from home and it looks like there is too much cool stuff to pass up. Besides, I need a set of license plates for my '40 and I am sure I can think of other excuses to go.;) http://www.norcalestate.com/up-and-coming-estate-sale.php

I am not sure if you've seen this one.

I love this picture! It's cool on so many levels. The man, Mickey Thompson.

    Kool April Nites

I just got back from a local show and thought I'd share some pics. As usual, there weren't too many rats but it was a good show anyway.

I thought you guys might dig this.

I know this is off the subject but I think we are all the same in that we dig metal and old stuff and this is both, so I thought I'd share. This "ball" has been on display in a metal fabrication yard downtown for as long as I can remember. I've passed by it thousands of times but never stopped...

    The 40G

Ok. This is gonna take a little explaining so bear with me. Last February I scored a stripped out 1940 Chevy 1.5 ton truck off of Craigslist for free. I love Craigslist! I mainly wanted it for the cab which was in good shape but of course needed some work. I had a friend media blast it, built a...

    Finally on board!

Hi all. According to my profile I've been a lurking member here since 2007, so I figured I should make it official and finally start posting some things. There seems to be a lot of good people on this site, not a bunch of know it all even though they've never done it keyboard bullies, and I...
